It would be absurd if LeBlanc doesn't make the all freshman team, though Otto Porter didn't either. My fear is that while he's been great, LeBlanc's game and style are much quieter, and he's easily gotten less attention that Akinjo and McClung. I would argue he's the most deserving of all three. I think Akinjo is most deserving but Leblanc is more deserving than McClung....

An interesting question- to me at least: who was the last freshman to be on the All BE team? Last Frosh to be BE player of the year?

Hauler will win. He has great stats across the board on a top team.
Akinjo is hurt by his low field goal percentage. LeBlanc has great stats for his position which is amazing considering zero plays are drawn up for him and he gets few touches with Mac, Akinjo and Govan all being ball dominant.
What hurts more is the 3 Hoyas will split votes and Hauser will run away with freshmen of the year

Hauser averages 9.8 PPG and 5.3 Rebounds... 2.4 Assists. His brother (a Sophomore) has better stats of the two. I could see the vote-splitting giving us a hard time, but I still think Akinjo and LeBlanc have favorable stats.

His brother isn’t competing for rookie of the year so can’t split votes Like our guys will.

I agree that Hauser probably wins because of our 3 splitting votes.
But we better get all 3 on that team.

His stats aren’t as good and the variation in his performance is much greater. If you are a coach who watched him get pulled in the 4th quarter for Malinowski then you won’t vote for him. But if he torch’s your team for 39 it’s and is raining 3s like Lamar Mundane you will definitely vote for him.

The formal announcement is next week. Who are your picks? I'll go with: 1st Team: Howard, Powell, Booth, Ponds, Govan 2nd Team: Baldwin, Strus, Diallo, Marshall, Paschall 3rd Team: Alexander, Heron, Hauser, Akinjo, Krampelj All-Freshmen: Akinjo, McClung, LeBlanc, Zagarowski, Bey. (Quinerly nowhere to be seen.) Player of the Year: Howard Rookie of the Year: Akinjo Mike Brey Coach of the Year Award: Wojciechowski, although I think Ewing and Steele deserve some attention too. DFW ... Alert!!! Someone hijacked your login Possibly the funniest post I've read this year.

I am not sure who votes for these awards, but if it is the coaches, I think Josh has a shot at Frosh of the year.
As to the all freshman team, you have to include the top Frosh scorer (Mac), top Frosh assist man ( and second leading scorer, James), and top Frosh rebounder and has been pointed out hereabouts, efficiency and intensity personified- (Josh). Then Zagarowski and Hauser. Bey will be a stud but this year he is lost in the system.
As to first team all BE- Govan might get robbed- he sure did last year- but let’s hope not. So it’s Govan and the guards.
I know it’s against the flow, but I think the coach of the year is Wright. I think Pat has a shot if we finish strong, but they’ll give it to Wojo, probably.

Imagine of Mullin gets coach of the year, that would be hilarious. I don't see a favorite there, so many guys in consideration it could be someone like Willard too. Also, the "problem" with having 3 good freshmen is that they could split votes while coaches could just pick Joey Hauser. Also, unless we finish strong I think Jessie ends up on the second team.
