Yeah I can stomach him going to UNC. I would’ve been Editeded if he had picked Marquette or Pitt.

1. It wasn’t about playing time. 2. DTM. 3. Call Curbelo.

Losing him to marquette or pitt would have been a tougher blow

Re-asserting our winning tradition will help us land this quality of recruit. Losing him and Anthony to UNC sucks! But that is how the ball bounced....onward. a waste of time.
Win and convincingly and that can make a difference.

Can't fault Ewing's effort.
This time around, it seemed like the kid was just waiting for UNC to show him the love. Once that happened, that's all she wrote.
Can't say I fault him for chasing the "storied program" route, although is certainly seems like specific team circumstances were not much of a factor (e.g. rosters, playing time). Will see how it plays out for him...

Kid made a huge mistake especially if he has NBA aspirations. He will not get enough playing time and will be recruited over. I can understand Cole going to UNC but not RJ. It would have made more sense for him to go to Pitt or Marquette if it wasn’t going to be Georgetown. At least he would have been able to showcase and improve his game in a more proper manner as they would have relied on him heavily. He is nothing more than a role player sat UNC unless something unforeseen happens. Oh well good luck to him, shut down the thread.

I don’t love it, but I can live with losing to UNC. The staff did a creditable job on Davis and knew when it was time to pivot. Onward.

I think this just highlights the tight window Ewing is trying to navigate. He was on Davis early, well before his rankings popped. He even has a big east rookie of the year PG that he can use as an example of what type of offense he wants to run and how it would give Davis exposure. Regionally pretty close to home. Still not enough.
Put me in the camp of Akinjo and McClung being here til they're juniors so this isn't the end of the world imo. But would've been nice to establish depth at each position in case something changes in future.

"I picked UNC because I felt like it was the right situation for me to achieve my goals," Davis told ESPN. "It's a family-oriented program that has a winning tradition. Also, it's a university that is very competitive and I wanted a chance to compete with the best of the best because I felt like I deserved it. The coaching staff is down to earth and direct in their approach and they're clear about the kids who they recruit to their program. The coaching staff of UNC looks out for their players and takes care of them."

UNC has Jeremiah Francis, Anthony Harris, Caleb Love & Davis at the lead guard spot now.. In my view Davis has a very good shot at a lot of playing time next season seeing that he’s easily the best shooter in that group...

All the metrics say the Big 12 & BIG EAST are better conferences top to bottom...

The one phrase that kept getting repeated by Davis in the ESPN article was "I deserve this". He basically repeated that at least three times regarding why he picked UNC. That phrase is an interesting choice of words and gives some insight on the thought process behind his decision. Imo that kind of thought process "I deserve it" can be somewhat questionable/red flag behind making a decision of this magnitude...
