Tragic in every way. I feel worse for his victims than I do him...but sad to see how his life turned out.

Sad? Mental illness? Positive changes? Where's the disgust and outrage? He's a freaking monster. There is no pity here. Mental illness, bad upbringing or unlucky lot in life doesn't come close to excusing this. What he's done is truly horrible and on repeated occasions. It's not sad. It's infuriating. He has nobody to blame but himself. Lock him away and throw away the key.

Agree with everything else you said and I said it before a couple months back...you watch that video and his actions are despicable. I don't think you can compare events like this but his actions that day were more disgusting than the Ray Rice or Joe Mixon video in my opinion. He is attempting to kill this poor woman. If I remember the details from the article correctly that is now 30+ times arrested and has already served 4 years in jail for another indictment. There is no rehabilitation here. He is a danger to society and should be locked up for remainder of his life.

I remember when Ron tried to interview him and he wanted to get paid to speak with him. Even think he was in jail when it happened.
Knucklehead.

Can we take the Victor Page item off of the front page of HoyaSaxa? He's been up there for days. Frankly he's an embarrassment to the program and the school. Why not something about history of the Kenner League? Or what about Niven Glover? Something else please.
New item added to the top of the front page today. - Admin

Amen. While we have historically run a clean program with solid kids, we should be carful about how high we sit on our horse. Between Page and Charles Smith we have aggravated sexual assault and vehicular homicide.

We can't link these grown ups and their behavior to the program , really. It's unfortunate. Very unfortunate that, in both cases, they cast a shadow on the program.

Can we severely minimize VP news on front page now? It’s not relevant to current program in any way and represents an ongoing embarrassment to school. There has got to be a more positive way to use our space and energy. We’re more than two decades removed from Vic’s blip on the Hilltop as a player.

The front Page is to accentuate the negative? ☹️👎🏻 Whether we like it or not, Victor Page's life is connected with Georgetown. It's mentioned in every write-up he gets on the more than 2,400 current citations in Google News. In a different world, Victor Page should have been at his 20th reunion two weeks ago as a retired millionaire instead of sitting in P.G. jail for the 34th time in the last nine years. It was just over a year ago when he appeared on Brian Chase's podcast with a new outlook on life, saying "I'm doing the right things now," but was otherwise stunned to learn that his own college teammate, Ed Sheffey, had died four years earlier and he never knew about it. Call it a sad story, a tragic one, but it's a story. To avoid it altogether would be disingenuous. As for Page, the next chapter in his life will be difficult. An early release from his last conviction put him on the streets and the next parole board isn't likely to repeat that. By his next release, he'll be a 64 year old twice-convicted felon, a registered sex offender, and someone that the criminal justice system will have forgotten. But in good times or bad, he's still part of the extended Georgetown basketball family. In many respects, his two years at Georgetown were the best years of his life: a stable place to live, three meals a day, and real role models to learn from. But in the ensuing 22 years, not much good came his way, and he bears the responsibility for that. The story rolls to the archive page on Wednesday. By his own actions this may well be the last story we'll ever read about him.

Wish there was a thumbs down option, which I would apply to this post. Reminds me of people who want to scrub things from the historical record because they don't like what happened. Sad state of affairs when people can't deal with things and wish to just wash them away...

Just don’t think Page’s 30th arrest is news. Sort of like reporting the sunrise.

I’m in between on the “how much to accentuate Victor Page”, and 2 years in the history of the world is a blip, but a member of the BE All-Rookie team, MVP of the BET and leading scorer for a season in the BE (all in 2 years) ain’t exactly a blip in the history books of Georgetown hoops ...

Fascinating read. What he did is inexcusable ...but man did he have a tough upbringing. Sad all the way around.
