Cornish was reportedly a strong Maryland lean and ended up at Maryland.
Williams was reportedly a strong Syracuse lean and ended up at Syracuse.
Now I understand that kids change their minds at the last second and that recruitments need to play out in many instances, but when is the next time a 4 star recruit (or really, any recruit for that matter) going to be reportedly a strong Georgetown lean going into a decision lasting longer than a week and then end up at Georgetown? It's becoming the norm that the kids we land are very much fallback options and commit immediately after we've missed on our prioritized targets. More often than not, we've either heard little or nothing about these players before they commit. That is not to be confused with a recruiting strategy; that's simply a feeble attempt at damage control for not getting the job done.
Need to start seeing some of that work that the staff allegedly does start paying off. Consistently finishing 5th or 6th in a 6 team race just isn't cutting it.

According to whom? On the face of it, that just seems ridiculous. GU made it to a final list for each of them, which had been cut - I'm assuming - from an original list of contacts 3 or 4 (or more) times that size. So what information do you have that they "didn't really consider" us? These lists mean nothing. You can't believe than every school on the list is a viable option. Sometimes it's to create suspense. Sometimes it is just out of courtesy to the staffs recruiting them. I know that for these 2 local guys, Georgetown was never a serious option. That's fine - maybe these particular lists mean nothing. I'm sure many do (like hopefully Ryan M's). So why comment about them? We already knew your thoughts on them. If they'd made up their mind a long time ago, then it's not like we lost a recruiting battle. It just sounds like you're piling on to a "woe is us" narrative. Maybe not. The fact is they did consider us, if only as much as it took to be named ahead of VaTech or Clemson or Pitt... or any other school they were approached by.

We had 3 spots open to begin the year and would ultimately have Sibley, Beard, and Harris (or Clark or even T Williams, if you like) committed. Wouldn't that have been a solid class? Even if Harris does fall into that category more than the others, he still ended up a 3-star and would've been the only SRD in the class. Yes - after the exodus, we had to scramble. But don't lump in the remainder of the class (xfers included) with our initial recruiting plan & success.

Agreed the T Williams decommit and having to scramble to replace with Bile/Holloway was a huge step back. '20-'21 outlook is a lot different had that not happened. This is now about '21 kids, though. What happened in '20 sucked, but we have to get off the mat early with '21 or unfortunately we are going to stay there.
