Exactly. At this point with neither having played (and remembering that playing a single minute means no redshirt)I would definitely think the plan is to redshirt them, but if there are significantly injuries or other unavailabilities you keep them ready. But losing LeBlanc and Akinjo to transfer is equivalent to losing them for the season to injury. I think Malcolm can get time at LeBlanc's power forward spot now and might be good to start developing him especially since there's still the possibility of losing Garnder and Alexander for the season. I meant I juries from here on in. While the loss of Gardner and/or Alexander might qualify, I don't think we should use up a year of Malcolm's eligibility yet just to be better prepared in case that happens. If we were to list both of them - well then, baptism by fire!

Why can't he play the one??? He’d be better than the guy who just quit on us What happened to the board taking the high ground...

Another way to think about it is we've played 9 games (and plenty against power 5 top D1 competition) w Jamorko Pickett primarily as the 4. Has he been posted up once? The game is transitioning where you need space on the court to run efficient offense. And on defense, the more switchable / athletic defenders you have on the court, the better. Think about all the rotating our defense is doing when your player is not involved in the pick n roll. I think people are reaching for one of Ewing's center recruits being a 4 to justify the balance of the class. And that's ultimately fine. Any big man going through the Ewing School of Basketball is a good bet to be an impact player. I just don't see him being paired with another post player. Pickett has been posted up more than he has posted his guy up. I would like to see that ratio flipped as I think he can dominate most matchups in back to the basket play.

Why? He's a natural 4 in my opinion. No. He's a 5 all the way. Yes, he's naturally a 5 but I believe he'll spend most of his time at the 4 in college, I don't know if his frame can bulk up enough to be a 5 exclusively. With the 3 freshman centers we have he's the least ready physically but he's also the most athletic and I believe he has the agility and instincts to guard on the perimeter, pair him with QW or TI and they make for a formidable back line. Michael Graham and Ewing, Mourning and Mutombo, Wahab and Wilson, someone has to play the 4. Wilson defensively is most qualified and I believe he will be a starter one day and we know Q is a starter year 2. Great problems to have.

I'm on board with Golden Hoya. Wilson is a good natural athlete. Although not as strong as Wahab, his agility, timing and bounce make him a really good option for the 4. A front court of Wilson, Wahab and Pickett next year would be very intimidating. Wilson looks like he's still growing. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a legit 7 footer by next year. 7', 6'10, 6'9. Big front line. Great shot blocker, too.

He is as tall as Coach Ewing! I have described what I saw of him. I think he is a great asset and look for great things for him over time. I believe with the new coach working with him he will accelerate his development.
Does anyone have a gauge on Timothy Igohofe? I have no sense of his game. His body seems chiseled, nothing else known!

Definitely a project but he was farther along than I thought he would be, I think he has a very bright future as a Hoya.

Also, in regards to all of our Bigs in the Bahama games, they all shot their free throws really well with very good form and touch.

Redshirting is a bizarre and idiotic practice with no benefit to the team whatsoever and we should never have tried it but we did because the program is run by a bunch of dinoasaurs.
Excited to see Malcolm play!

Excited to see Tim play too! Redshirting is idiotic. We just had four people leave in the middle of the season and people think it's a great idea to have players sit out entire seasons for the benefit of some fifth year that will never be exercised and if it is exercised, will be exercised elsewhere.

I'd rather see Wahab play some at the 4, with Malcolm/Tim at backup center... (Wahab could get mns at both if necessary)...

Yurt, Pickett, Mac and Allen have to stay out of foul trouble...

Hopefully against Samford, UMBC and American we get Timmy & Malcolm some run. Not ideal against Cuse
