I wonder if he decided on his own that finishing his degree at Cal Baptist was better than Georgetown?

As far as I can tell, you represented the Univiersithy well while you were here. And, thanks again, to the the usual nattering nabobs of negativity for polluting yet another thread. We really weren't sure how you feel, so the posts are really helpful.

But, his reward for that, in his last year, was to be effectively kicked out of school so that Patrick Ewing can fail with a new group of players. It’s pathetic and I don’t care what college basketball has turned into, it’s not acceptable.

So you are in favor of keeping scholarship players for four years no matter their ability to provide a real contribution to the success of the basketball team? I mean can we all agree that Ighoefe seems like a nice guy but is not and likely will not be a high caliber college center? When schools recruit players and it turns out that the player is not going to develop into a Big East caliber player ... is it wrong to push them to transfer?

So you are in favor of keeping scholarship players for four years no matter their ability to provide a real contribution to the success of the basketball team? If they are holding up their end of the bargain in the classroom - yes. JT3 keeping Tyler Adams for four years even when it was apparent he couldn't ever play again used to be what this program stood for. Now this program boots seniors who make the BE All-Academic team. It's one thing to run off a freshman who won't work out - it's completely another thing to use a guy for three years and run him off a year before he gets a degree. Players getting degrees also used to be another thing that this program stood for.

Yes, I think a player should be guaranteed four years as long is he a student in good standing and not breaking rules or being disruptive off the court. The player should not have to pay the price for the coach’s failure.

Practice, I think it is the coaches who need to appropriately evaluate that player on the front end, not the player having to develop at some clip to guarantee four years. Now if the player doesn't develop and still has a spot on the team but doesn't play, that is fine. But if they are pushed out, that is no good. You take a raw prospect like Tim who has the body but has barely played the game, then that is probably a 50/50 shot at best. If he wanted that Gtown degree over all else, he should have been allowed to stay to get it.

The upside for the 2022-23 team is mediocre. So, the notion that one scholarship for one year can’t be allocated to a guy who has done nothing wrong for three years is ludicrous.

Maybe you think that he decided, all on his own, that finishing his degree at Cal Baptist is a good idea. I think that’s extremely far fetched and that it’s more likely that he was told that he would no longer have a scholarship. For all practical purposes, that’s being kicked out of school.

It's tiring having to slog through this nonsense in every thread.

So no evidence? You post this over and over as a deflection, knowing the standard of proof will never be met. I don't have incontrovertible evidence that George Butler was thrown out for cheating on a paper in 1995, but everyone here for twenty years has accepted that as canon because it fits the facts and it's what the rumor mill said. No one ever in twenty years has challenged that with a "where's the evidence." This is challenged because it says something you don't want to believe.

It's telling that you think asking for facts is a "deflection." The real issue is wanting to believe something without evidence, and criticizing others for pointing that out.

Players getting degrees also used to be another thing that this program stood for. I make a distinction between having a bad heart and not having BE talent or enough heart. Malcom Wilson is still on the roster, so I'm not sure we can assume that Ighoefe was run off the team ... perhaps he was informed that he would more than likely lose his starting position and most of his playing time. I think the scholars on Hoyasaxa vastly outweigh the academic renown of Georgetown versus the real desire of seemingly every basketball player to start and to get significant minutes. I'm of mixed feelings when it comes to players who were misevaluated by the coaching staff. I think most of them will transfer on their own in order to play somewhere ... but I would not be a fan of 3 or 4 scholarship upperclassmen who can't contribute at the BE level. As usual, the posters of Hoya Saxa have absolutely no insider knowledge -- or outsider knowledge -- as to why any of our current players went to the transfer portal.

I suppose that it will be taken as a sign of our irrelevance that the Hoyas don't appear on that list--which is possible--but, after reading the profiles, it's a stretch to omit us--especially when you start with someone considered a top 3 transfer.

I wonder how different 95 could have gone with him. These are the things I'd rather talk about than Cal Baptist chatter.

Everyone who left except Holloway and Aminu were asked to bounce.
