Goober Comer getting exactly nowhere. Only ignorant MAGA GOPers believe this cr*ap. Truly pathetic and stupid human beings. House Republicans will no longer vote to hold FBI Director Christopher A. Wray in contempt of Congress this week, saying that they reached a last-minute agreement with the director late Wednesday to reveal more details related to FBI documents that contain allegations against Joe Biden. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) had planned to hold a contempt vote in his committee Thursday and has publicly derided Wray for failing to comply with a subpoena that demanded he hand over in full an FBI document that contained unsubstantiated allegations about Biden and his family. The allegations predated Biden’s presidency. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/06/07/comer-wray-fbi-contempt-conngress/

It's almost as though they don't have any integrity at all.

The "party" of law and order? A cult of authoritarians and hypocrites. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), a Trump ally, has called on Congress to reform the FBI in “a major way.” “Maybe we need to break them up,” he said. “I do want law enforcement available to do law enforcement tasks. My concern with the FBI is they don’t seem very concerned about law enforcement; they seem focused on these political witch hunts,” he added thehill.com/homenews/senate/4039469-gop-warns-of-pushback-ahead-of-looming-trump-indictment/

Now the MAGA GOP will display how corrupt it is by its response to Mango's indictment. Corrupt, criminal hypocrites. Y'all GFY.
Hey MAGA Goobers, keep sending your $$ to the grifter-in-chief.
Trump was already fundraising off the indictment on Thursday night, with an email to small-dollar donors that was titled: “BREAKING: INDICTED.” He asked the donors to give at least $24 “to peacefully stand with me today and prove that YOU will NEVER surrender our country to the radical Left – for 1,500% impact.”

"Billionaires" need money, too. It’s a really strange mindset. If you go to college and get additional education, you’re an elite. But, if you have billions of dollars and exert vast influence with your cash, you’re not an elite (unless you’re George Soros- then you are the devil). Why is there no grudge against these elitist billionaires with 10 homes, yachts and airplanes?

Time for Hofstadter again, your MAGA GOP, angry, aggrieved and paranoid. Nearly 60 years ago, historian Richard Hofstadter published his classic essay, “The Paranoid Style in American Politics” in Harper’s magazine. It came out at the end of the 1964 presidential campaign between Democrat Lyndon Johnson and Republican Barry Goldwater. The essay marked the takeover of the Republican Party by the Radical Right. Goldwater’s defeat in 1964 did not mean the demise of the Radical Right. Conservatives ultimately came to power with the election of Ronald Reagan, a Goldwater supporter, in 1980. Reagan, however, was less a radical than a figure of the conservative establishment. Reagan was not given to espousing paranoid conspiracy theories. The far right finally came to power in 2016 with the election of Donald Trump, whose conservative credentials were not very deep. It is with Trump that Hofstadter’s “paranoid style” became most visible and powerful. thehill.com/opinion/campaign/3263417-america-now-embracing-the-paranoid-style/

The Chaos Conference In the House, a spectacular flameout What a gas! A week ago, Speaker Kevin McCarthy was king of the world. “Tonight we all made history,” he announced after the bipartisan debt deal sailed through the House. “There’s a whole new day here,” he proclaimed. He then proceeded to do the legislative equivalent of slipping on a banana peel, pulling down the drapes, knocking over a fully laden buffet and face planting into the wedding cake. Just six days after his triumph, a small band of right-wing zealots who opposed the debt deal used parliamentary tactics to bring proceedings on the House floor to a halt, in the first protest of its kind in more than two decades. They shut down the House for a couple of hours, then for the entire day, then for the next day. After 6 p.m. on Wednesday, House GOP leaders surrendered to the saboteurs with a whip notice: “Members are advised that votes are no longer expected in the House this week. … Thank you all for your patience.” The mutineers were in command of the ship. They blamed McCarthy for betraying them. McCarthy blamed Majority Leader Steve Scalise. Scalise blamed McCarthy. Negotiations went nowhere. And the People’s House ceased to function. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/06/09/imaginary-war-gas-stoves-house-gop/

POS MAGA GOPer #1. Fine "Christian" family man on his fourth marriage. WASHINGTON – Republicans have come out swinging at Friday’s federal criminal indictment of former President Donald Trump. But Lafayette Republican Congressman Clay Higgins took it one step further Thursday. In a cryptic tweet that prompted thousands of angry responses – and confusion – online, Higgins called the arraignment "a perimeter probe from the oppressors." He also used language interpreted by one author as a call for right-wing milita groups to mobilize in support of Trump when he is arraigned Tuesday in Miami. www.nola.com/news/politics/clay-higgins-urges-war-over-trump-indictments-author-says/article_db78acde-0701-11ee-af01-73c2414fd4d7.html

Only one American political party/cult advocates for violence in politics - the MAGA GOP. And how many "Republicans" have repudiated the violent rhetoric of Mango and his sycophant/cultists?? GOP = Fascists. MIAMI — Federal and local authorities on Sunday amped up security preparations ahead of Donald Trump’s first appearance in federal court on criminal charges here, monitoring online threats and potential gatherings of far-right extremists while marshaling more police officers to be on duty. Escalating violent rhetoric in online forums, coupled with defiant statements from the former president and his political allies, have put law enforcement officials on alert for potential disruptions ahead of Trump’s court appearance. He is facing a 37-count federal indictment, 31 of which allege he willfully kept classified documents in his possession after leaving the White House. Authorities were monitoring plans for pro-Trump rallies in Miami, including one outside the federal courthouse on Tuesday purportedly organized by a local chapter of the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group, some leaders of which were found guilty of seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/06/11/trump-miami-courthouse-security-protests/

America no longer has two parties devoted to a democratic system of self-government. We have a Democratic party, which – notwithstanding a few glaring counter-examples, such as what the Democratic National Committee did to Bernie Sanders in 2016 – is still largely committed to democracy. And we have a Republican party, which is careening at high velocity toward authoritarianism. OK, fascism. We are witnessing the logical culmination of win-at-any-cost Trump Republican politics – scorched-earth tactics used by Republicans to entrench their power, with no justification other than that they can. Democracy is about means. Under it, citizens don’t have to agree on ends (abortion, healthcare, guns or whatever else we disagree about) as long as we agree on democratic means for handling our disagreements. But for Trump Republicans, the ends justify whatever means they choose – including expelling lawmakers, rigging elections through gerrymandering, refusing to raise the debt ceiling and denying the outcome of a legitimate presidential election. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/apr/15/the-modern-republican-party-fascism-robert-reich
