I saw tweets on Casual that Ryan is not going to pre- announce his announcement. Definitely a Hoya mindset.

Even if he is in the 60-70 range wouldn't he still be our highest ranked recruit in the Ewing era? Yes if we are saying 60-70. Sibley was in the 70-90 range (as was Terrence Williams). Next would be Akinjo, LeBlanc and Pickett who were all in the 90s, if memory serves correct. That being said I honestly am not sure there’s much difference between 60-125. In that range it’s all about development. Here you could get a Myles Powell / Josh Hart or a Reggie Cameron / Stephen Domingo. |

What does it gain one way or another to say I’ve made my decision but I’m going to wait to tell everyone? |

A lot of kids end up delaying the announcement so that they can come out with a cool video or graphic edit made for IG/twitter etc. Sounds stupid, but that can take time |

Maybe he's waiting for his mother's birthday on 10/19, or maybe he is waiting for his school to reopen so he can announce at his school with his coach and teammates. Every recruit has different reasons about the timing of their commitments. For sure there are. But why then announce before you’re ready to proceed? Why not just wait until you have all your ducks in a row? What does it gain one way or another to say I’ve made my decision but I’m going to wait to tell everyone? Keep in mind that he didn't officially announce this. He was just responding to a question on Instagram Live, which is often just a bunch of your friends in the audience. Never said it wasn’t his decision. And ya he can announce whenever he’d like. If he really wants to be the one to announce doesn’t this just increase the odds the info will be leaked and he won’t be the one delivering it? The only way something would leak is if someone leaked it, and if Ryan has already made his decision I wouldn't be surprised if only his immediate family knew that decision. |
