I wonder how engaged students will be to come to the game on election night? Given by their activity over the last few years, not many. Students haven't turned out heavily for early games in years. This year many of the games are free for students.

Re the TV coverage questions, this site has been posted here in the past and I've found it useful, so passing it along: mattsarzsports.com/Season/Contents/basketball201819#.W9H7dHtKiUnHe lists the following stations ("RSN Affiliates") as carrying the UMES game: AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh FOX Sports Florida MASN2 SportsTime Ohio

Election Night in Washington DC is one of the worst times to schedule a game that would have already suffered from very poor attendance. This may be one of the least attended games in recent history. For what it's worth, I am assuming Georgetown had very little input into the 8:30 time, and who knows if the Big East required them to start on that day.

I think a super majority of the student body has no idea who McClung is at the moment. That may change quickly, but I don't think that will be a big boost on opening night. I would love to be wrong, I just think it's the reality of the situation.

Yes, because unless things have changed drastically recently, a significant part of the undergraduate student body doesn’t care at all about basketball. So yeah, they might use Instagram, but that doesn’t mean they’ve seen his highlights.

It would blow your mind how little the general student population cares about basketball. Kids work to get into good law schools and other graduate programs down the line. They are not coming to GU because of McClung videos.

They are not coming to GU because of McClung videos. Spot on. We obsess over it here, but most of the student body doesn't care about it at all. I do think at certain times (like the Final Four) interest becomes greater, but McClung viral videos aren't going to do it. Keep in mind that unless you like basketball or sports in some capacity, you're odds of seeing the videos online aren't very high - and a lot of students don't. For what it's worth, I do not think Georgetown is alone in this situation. I am sure plenty of students at Duke don't care at all about basketball, and they've won championships, etc. It's just the nature of a mix of different types of personalities.

If the team starts winning and Mac is putting on a show, the students will come back. They are just a bit apathetic.

If we win, those on the fence would go. Half the population wouldn’t turn on a Final Four appearance, but would rather hang out at Lauinger.

Out of curiosity, how big (# of seats) is the student section at The Vault?

It's not loading but he posted a vid on his Instagram page with part of his Gtown intro it has 40,000 likes in 18 minutes... He has close to 10 posts with over 2 million likes. He's got almost 700k followers on the gram.
You guys would be surprised how popular this kid is with his peers and how connected they all are too each other. I think the answer lands somewhere in the middle.

My little nephew knows who he is and he's a hs freshman who plays f-ball and runs track in NYC...He Ccalled me this summer and asked me if I knew who Mac McClung was and that's he's going to play for my favorite team, Georgetown... Lol

Thoughts on how much of the season will be available on the much ballyhooed YouTubeTV?

One week to go. The off-season seems longer every year.
Hoya Saxa, enjoy the ride.

Thoughts on how much of the season will be available on the much ballyhooed YouTubeTV? Looks like Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 are included in YouTubeTV, as well as some other networks (Big Ten Network, etc.). However Fox Sports Networks might depend on location, for instance I think YES is included if you're in the New York area. If that's all accurate, then if all you had was YouTubeTV then here's what you would possibly miss based on location: 11/6 UMES FSN 11/24 Campbell FSN 12/22 Little Rock FSN 1/2 Butler FSN 2/9 Butler FSN 25 of 31 games would be televised, and 1 is TBD (last game of the season I believe Fox has flex scheduling).
