Just after this picture, Akinjo either patted Ewing on the forehead or just put his hand on the top of his head. (Couldn't quite see.) I thought it was extremely funny, but then I tried to imagine what would have happened if any player ever put his hand on John Thompson, Jr.'s head. There might have been a hole in the floor all the way to China. The world has changed, that's for sure. Iverson may have gotten away with it. maybe not though. Watching it on TV, though, there wasn't a hint of disrespect. It was all very natural in the give and take of the moment. Not sure there was any "getting away with" there -- I think both of them understood each other just fine.

My wife has adopted James as her favorite player. She likes his attitude. Normally she could care less about sports in general. In fact when we go to a game she roots for the clock.

Dan Patrick show just discussed the floor slapping sequence as the “best of the weekend”. He’s officially on the national radar.

Great game today on both sides of the ball from James, he and Mac led the team to this win. Kid absolutely worked Howard all game long.

That performance should seal it. Akinjo freshman POY in Big East. Josh and Mac not far behind.

We knew he had something special in him after the win at Illinois. Now everyone else knows it too.
It's a pleasure watching him grow into a top level college point guard. When he's playing well we are hard to stop.

Funny how things change. One year ago, glidehoyas had slowly gone crazy about the need for a top notch point guard and Georgetown’s apparent failure to recognize this need. I’d say his message came through, and James Akinjo has shown us just how much we needed a player like him.

I’d say his message came through, and James Akinjo has shown us just how much we needed a player like him. With all due respect, he wanted that Morgan St. guard over Akinjo. What made James' offensive performance more amazing in second half was the effort he had to expend on the defensive side of the floor against Howard. That was the best overall individual Hoya performance in several years.

Remember that time a few weeks ago that Donny Marshall said Georgetown needed a PG....I'm pretty sure we have one - the likely Big East Freshman of the Year.

From the goat after the first MU game to a stud after the second... sometimes losses spur growth more so than wins...

I’d say his message came through, and James Akinjo has shown us just how much we needed a player like him. Why do people say stuff like this? Like Ewing, who came in and chose to run an NBA pick and roll offense, was like "I don't need a PG. Oh, wait, this loud, crazy dude said I should get one, and when I disagreed he called me racist, so I'm going to get one."
