Yurtseven was clearly hurt. He played pretty hard. He was clearly trying out there but wasn't 100%. Credit to him. He battled.

Patrick knows. He did not bring in 3 freshmen centers without knowing this would be Yurtseven's last season. But obviously it isn't up to him to say anything.

A lot has changed since the beginning of the season, including his stock.

Not to mention that coronavirus may significantly limit European or overseas professional opportunities next year. In light of that, perhaps it does make sense for him to come back. I know some disagree, but a healthy Yurtseven would be great. If we could get a nameless player with his profile, everyone would want him for next year, and he’s already potentially on our roster.

Yurtseven would steal Wahab’s minutes. See tonight’s game for how it would go down.

Yurtseven would steal Wahab’s minutes. See tonight’s game for how it would go down. Yurtseven was coming off of an injury tonight. It's completely different. Plus, Wahab going against Yurtseven every day in practice would help his development. If Yurtseven is willing to come back (I don't think he is by the way, I still think he's 100% gone), you take him no questions asked.

I have no doubt that Wahab will be a really good player for us, but I am 100% confident that if Yurtseven returned healthy would be a top 5 player for us, so we would clearly be better off with him than without him. I really like Wahab, but I still hope Yurtseven comes back. As I said, if there was a graduate transfer with his profile, most people would want him. Bird in hand...

I wish Yurt7 well in all his future endeavors. I believe that if Tim Igoefe played a few backup minutes and Q played more last night the outcome of the game would have been much different.
Both Tim & Q improved as the season unfolded.

I'm one of the people in the camp that would welcome Yurtseven back if he decided to change his plans and return to college, but I don't agree with the bolded part. I think most people would be pretty upset if Ewing were to pursue a grad transfer center this offseason given the current roster makeup.

If he stays, I would welcome a grad/JUCO PF.

if he decides to stay, would definitely welcome him back.
after that year off and a good part of this season with the coach, he can only improve. He now has a feel what the coach is looking for and what some NBA GMs are looking for.
maybe the best secnario is to go through NBA evaluations at the end of this season, get the inout, and return as Myles Powell did.
seeing Malcolm getting his minutes at the PF position.

I am hoping against hope, more than anything else heading into the offseason, that he is not back next year. It was a failed experiment. A risk worth taking at the time, but a pretty poor outcome for all parties. Move on.

Still puzzled why anyone thinks Malcolm will or can play power forward. What have you seen. Nothing against Malcolm. I just haven't seen the skill set. Yes he can run, and he's the quickest jumper, but his coordination offensively, I question. Still I keep hear what you are suggesting and I'd like to know why.curious.

A risk worth taking at the time, but a pretty poor outcome for all parties. Move on. You have expressed similar sentiments before. I realize Yurtseven did not turn out as good as we all expected (including me), but he still made solid contributions when he wasn't hurt. Again, I find it hard to believe anybody else on the roster other than Wahab would be as good as Yurtseven and Wahab can't play 40 minutes a game. I know there's also the idea floating around that Yurtseven was soft and purposedly didn't play, but if that was true he would not have played last night.

In my opinion Yurtseven is slow and not very athletic. He has a great jump shot, I have not seen outstanding range. And I would consider him slow. He appears massive but doesn't move quickly at all.

I think Yurt is a "good" athlete for his size. I am not sure I would call him slow or plodding, but he is also not an explosive, elite athlete. He has very well developed offensive skills for a college big man, but I question how those skills will translate into the NBA, if he can not improve on his athleticism/quickness.

His size is negated by his below average athleticism. Has a nice touch.
