I'm rooting for Mac! He will eventually be on someone's team.

Good luck to Mac, but he's definitely going to be behind Reaves and Ayayi in the pecking order. The Lakers got two second round picks without drafting anyone, and Reaves is clearly better than Mac.

Seems more like a training camp body...do you actually think AD and Lebron will be in camp? Good luck to Mac and he'll find his landing spot eventually.

He could parlay this into a huge China contract like Benimon did. IIRC Benimon was picked up by the Cavs and Lebron for training camp. He then turned that down to sign with China and I think the press release said something like Benimon of the Cavs and Lebron James signs with China.

Lakers have also signed Carmelo and Malik Monk today. Sorry Mac, I'm sure you saw yourself in the playoffs but you'll be better of scheming your next YouTube move asap.

I still think it's not too late for him to petition or use legal channels to go back to college. With the new NIL rules, I think he has a good case. That's what I've been recommending to his handler.

It looked like he was going to get a dunk on that breakaway but he went for the reverse layup.

At this level, it ain't about dunking anymore Mac. It is about how mentally focused you are an how fundamentally sound you are. So please stop it with this dunking crap!

Its his game, he's learning but he's going to going to keep going for those flashy plays. He can dunk the ball in the games all he wants but what I am saying is that he needs to stop making that his focus. It was well and good and cute and all when he was doing those "flashy" plays/dunks in high school and to some some extent college but this is a different level now and he needs to focus on the overall game of basketball if he wants to make the league. He has to be mentally focused and doing all of those "hot dog" plays will take away from his focus. At that level, damn near everybody in the NBA can flashy dunk but hardly anyone does it. What he needs to do is practice a thousand times shooting mid range jumpers and three point shots like Yurt. Leave the flash stuff alone (everybody and their mama know you can do it so why keeping doing it?) or else he'll be out the league and I don't want to see that happen to him.

What's concerning to me is that Mac is letting Austin Reaves bring the ball up and Mac seems content to play the shooting guard. That's not going to get him in the league.

Along with his hot dogging, his trying to get along and appease everyone by showing his dunking and jumping skills is going to have him right back at the bottom. He needs to pretend that Akinjo is on the team. I bet that will get his butt focused and I bet you he would be asking the coach can he bring the ball up the floor in some spurts. However, I do believe that Mac could actually play the shooting guard position in today's NBA where height doesn't seem to be too much of a hindrance because of small ball and the positionless basketball concept.

What's concerning to me is that Mac is letting Austin Reaves bring the ball up and Mac seems content to play the shooting guard. That's not going to get him in the league. He and Reaves are both combo guards, it's literally the second summer league game, the team needs to get a look at both guys playing both the 1 and 2 and I imagine that will continue throughout summer league and into the G League. That said, I would say Mac has been playing more PG than Reaves when they are on the floor together... when Justin Robinson is in the game though he's strictly a SG since Robinson is strictly a PG. Speaking of Robinson, I don't wanna trash the guy cus everybody has bad stretches and he might just be going through one, but he has been absolutely terrible the first 2 games... I only bring it up because people act like McClung playing in the NBA is a 100% impossibility... well that Robinson dude is in his 3rd year and McClung already looks better... Robinson has played 18 career games in the NBA... 9 as a rookie and 9 last year... if that dude can get some burn in the league, McClung certainly can eventually. It was just one game, but Ramsey on the Kings, who's also already played some NBA games looked even worse than Robinson. He was literally a ghost out there... only time I remember seeing him or hearing his name is when he was missing shots... 0 energy and looked like he didn't even wanna be out there. McClung on the other hand is all over the place... sure he's making some mistakes here and there, but his energy and hustle is undeniable. Completely different players offensively, but defensively he's really looking like a Matthew Dellavadova type player. You can tell he's really putting a lot of focus on that part of his game so far, and he said as much in the interview I posted. Funny enough, most NBA fans don't seem to watch college and most know little to nothing about Mac beyond his dunking ability and high school mixtapes. 2 games in and the narrative amongst the Laker fans is mostly about his defense. Some posts from the Lakers board: Mac, he's a ball of energy. But he's so small. If he can't bulk up like fisher, I can't see him in the NBA.
Liked what I saw from Reaves, REALLY like what I saw from McClung, Ayayi played alright.
Its only a summer league game and it doesn't mean much, but I liked what I saw from McClung. He has heart. Keep in mind that prior to tonight I knew absolutely nothing about him lol.
Mcclung was kind of nice. He has a flare to his game in his passing and on defense he has his hands on the ball every possession it seems, his hustle is fun to watch
I liked MCCLUNG. He looks like a real pest.
Liked a lot of what I saw defensively from McClung, he could be a real hustle, defense and pest guy with some athleticism to boot it. Always need guys like that on a team
McClung impresses me. Looks very fluid with the ball in his hands, VERY ACTIVE on defense (2 steals already), and his jumper is good form. I'm liking him.
McClung making nice passes but the (bleep) can’t finish anything. Last time this summer league we will ever see CaCock in the NBA.
Great comeback from our guys. Impressed by McClung and Reaves some more. Better game than last time and played with some passion.

Its his game, he's learning but he's going to going to keep going for those flashy plays. Thing is, it's his HS game. That wasn't his game in college and it certainly won't be in the pros. Unless he's on a huge breakaway.
