Half way through and Coach E is working hard to get the young men ready to meet the challenges ahead.
This conference could be named the GAUNTLET because this is what remains. Wow!
DEPAUL at Creighton at Xavier at Providence SETON HALL at Butler XAVIER PROVIDENCE MARQUETTE at Villanova
We need the next one at home to keep the team mentally prepared for the remaining ones.

PC takes down Creighton going away after losing by 19 at Creighton. I was hoping for a Hoya win here v PC, but they are improving quickly.

Yikes. I’d like to win em all but taking 3 of those last 9 after DePaul would be a big win. It’ll be tough but that would leave us at 17-12 overall and 7-11 in conference play. A good first step.

Providence was picked to finish 3rd or 4th in the Big East standings. They had several guys injured and picked up some losses in their out of conference schedule. They are pretty healthy now and have recent victories over Creighton, Xavier and Butler.

It's not really a gauntlet because the only reason it was a gauntlet is because we are done with St. Johns.

How is that realistic? We've some how managed 3 wins so far. One more win is realistic, two would be pretty surprising, three would be shocking.

If Blair and Pickett can give the kind of contributions we got today, DePaul, Providence, Marquette and Seton Hall are 4 games I think we have a realistic shot at taking.

I err on the side of optimism with the Hoyas but what team are you watching if you think we are winning 3 or 4 more games? Today we should have lost, got bailed out in OT to eventually win in Double OT ... at Home... to beat a winless team ... that had 3 players foul out... That isnt exactly the story line of a team on the rise that is coming together and will surprise some teams the second time around.
If we play our best game we can win a game against someone who is better than us the other 364 days of the year but while i hope we have a game like that and get a surprise win, we arent going to rise up like that 2 or 3 times.

Oh they had foul trouble did they? Was their best player and only center out the entire first half? Oh it was at home was it? Did this same winless bunch of losers just lead Xavier at the under 8 in the second half three days ago in Cincy? Oh were we bailed out? Did a reserve player tip in a rebound to force OT to complete a 20-point comeback? That's life in the Big East. There is no comeback narrative. There's just grinding. And these guys grinded today. If they can improve, they can steal a few more wins. Let's hope they can. And err on the side of optimism. What do you have to lose?

It’s definitely not realistic that we are going 7-11, 8-10 this year, but 3-5 at this point is still 3-5. And we have a good shot to be 4-5. You can’t take that away from the team. So, I’m still optimistic they can grind out some more wins. SJU stinks but I’d bet not all 4 top BE teams sweep them. Conference play can be tough.

10 games left. 4 games against the elite- Nova, Xavier, and Seton Hall. A win there seems improbable.
3 games on the road against Creighton, Providence and Butler- one win from this group would be an achievement.
3 home games against DePaul, Marquette and Providence I’d be happy with 2/3.
5-6 conference wins would be something to build on.

I would be disappointed, but not shocked, if we can't squeeze a win out of the last nine, satisfied with one win, pretty content if we could somehow grab two.

I agree with Sleepy and I'll have what the rest of you are smoking. 4-5, 3-6?!? I am just hoping we don't go 0fer as that is a distinct possibility. 2-7 would be a win getting us to 5 conference wins total.

I don't see more than 1 win left before the BET - BUT I am going to predict TWO wins at the Garden in March!

Our lack of a solid PG gives us a low ceiling. No answer to the double teams on Derrickson or Govan. On some nights we will be hot from outside and keep ourselves close, but crunch time is when we have no answers.
