Oh look, Marc Thiessen - complete hack that he is - wrote a bad faith ridiculous column. Steele is in hiding because his life is under threat by the Russians and you're promoting the Orwellian doublespeak argument that hiring him is collusion with Russia.

And the hits just keep on coming! AG Sessions apparently rejected Papadopoulos's approach to the Russians despite when he was under oath in June during in Congressional testimony he testified that he had no knowledge of any Russian-related campaign conversations. How many versions is this guy going to have? At what point do you consider his prior inconsistent statements or failures of memory as evidence of perjury or false statements under 18 USC 1001? But Sessions, who was a top surrogate for Trump during the campaign, did not disclose these discussions despite a persistent set of questions from Democrats and some Republicans about Russia during multiple hearings on Capitol Hill. The new information is renewing attention to how forthcoming Sessions has been with Congress. www.cnn.com/2017/11/02/politics/jeff-sessions-congress-russia-trump-campaign/index.html

I failed to recognize that any writer expressing views that did not extol the virtues of the left was a hack. My bad. What I am trying to say is you better not sleep on Mueller probing Dems also, since he is that choir boy the left is now painting him as.

I would like to see all of the corrupt SOB's have their asses dragged out of office or their positions of power, as the case may be. But I mean real corruption, not trumped up (no pun intended) nonsense about whether Bubba is a hound dog, which everyone already knew anyway.

I would guess that most reasonable people would agree with rooter's sentiment. It seems to me that there doesn't appear to be all that many people that champion Hillary as a bastion of morality or the epitome of what one wants in a leader. In comparison to the current President, she probably is spoken of more favorably than she otherwise would be. Trump, however, even with his of his glaring issues, seems to have a significant base of fervent supporters that just don't care about his issues. Trump could follow through on his shooting someone on Fifth Avenue comment and his followers would, likely, be more agitated by Hillary dropping a water balloon on the victim before Trump shot him.

More direct evidence from a Trump adviser J.D. Gordon contradicting Trump and Sessions that no one had contact with Russians. Setting aside that Sessions allegedly shot down a Putin meeting, why didn't Sessions testify completely? He clearly was aware of it. Whenever Russians and the Trump campaign come up, everyone lies. Why? Trump advised directly by Papadopoulos. “He went into the pitch right away,” said J. D. Gordon, a campaign adviser who attended the meeting. “He said he had a friend in London, the Russian ambassador, who could help set up a meeting with Putin.” Mr. Trump listened with interest. Mr. Sessions vehemently opposed the idea, Mr. Gordon recalled. “And he said that no one should talk about it,” because Mr. Sessions thought it was a bad idea that he did not want associated with the campaign, he said. www.nytimes.com/2017/11/02/us/politics/trump-jeff-sessions-russia.htmlCarter Page also told Sessions of trip to Russia: President Trump’s one-time foreign-policy adviser Carter Page reportedly alerted now-Attorney General Jeff Sessions about a trip to Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. nypost.com/2017/11/02/carter-page-i-told-jeff-sessions-about-my-trip-to-russia/

One of my very smart conservative (in the traditional "establishment" sense) friends (Yale and Yale Law School -- that is "establishment" isn't it?) says he hates Trump even more because it forced him to do one thing he swore he'd never do --- he actually voted for a Clinton and he lives in Virginia where it actually matters for the electoral college.

Nobody is going to shed a tear if some dirty folk get busted for being dirty folks. Mueller's a choir boy used to be bi-partisan consensus until he started this case.

If Mueller can bring down both the trump presidency and the lobbying industry, he'll get a spot on Mt Rushmore.

I'd almost rather that he takes down a few Dems in the process too. There's an entire mythology out on the right (Hannity, Carlson, Trump, Putin) that this is just a partisan witch hunt. If he knocks out a Tony Podesta or someone else in the Clinton (or Obama) orbit, I can only imagine the change in the narrative. Russian interference in our election/political system is a PROBLEM. It's a big deal. Both sides need to care about it. If it takes bloodshed on both sides for that to happen, so be it.

Trump on the Russia probe: “It’s a disgrace, frankly, that they continue.” (via CBS) It's pretty clear from this comment and others he's made about the DOJ that the walls are closing in and Trump knows is about to be Editeded. Couldn't happen to a better guy. This is what happens when a very stupid and very corrupt person runs for a job that he didn't even want in the first place.

Autocrats always want the power to sic law enforcement on their political enemies. That’s right. His deputy attorney general having assured the public of Trump’s fealty to the rule of law, the President of the United States declared that it was “the saddest thing” that he could not call up an investigation of his political opponent, that he would “love to be doing” things with the FBI and the Justice Department, and that he’s “very frustrated” and “very unhappy” that he can’t. As Rudyard Kipling might have put it, this is the way presidents who believe in the rule of law always talk. But let's unpack for a moment what Trump is saying here. He is saying with bold frankness that he would like to be able to interfere with ongoing investigations. He is saying just as clearly that he would like to be able to order up investigations of his political opponents. He is declaring himself a corrupt actor who believes that the FBI and the Justice Department should be at his beck and call for political purposes. We already knew these things about him. We knew that Trump is a man who is capable of firing his FBI Director because James Comey would not aid him in such endeavors and of threatening his attorney general and his deputy attorney general—the same deputy attorney general who is still giving speeches about Trump’s fealty to the rule of law—and the special counsel over the inconveniences they pose him in his corrupt attitude towards law enforcement. www.lawfareblog.com/saddest-thing-president-trump-acknowledges-constraint

The Trumpists will just call it window dressing, unless the numbers are fairly equal.
