www.guhoyas.com/sports/w-xctrack/spec-rel/102717aaa.htmlInteresting that this article says that Amos will run; he has not been entered in any meets this year so far. The article also does not mention Spencer Brown, usually a middle distance guy, but has been our #2 guy all year in XC. Good luck to both the men and women. The men are favored to win, but anything can happen. I am hoping that the men bounce back from their poor showing at pre-Nats. I think they will come in rested, as opposed to the pre-Nats. The pre-Nats was also hot and humid, which should not be the case in Wisconsin, as we should expect some snow and wind. The women will find it hard to get to the top 2, so I hope they finish at least #3. I hope Kennedy Weisner rebounds back to the form from last year. No comment on Paige Hofstad, who could be our best XC runner.

Results at the end of 2K:
lace Team Points 1 Butler 25 2 Villanova 49 3 Georgetown 55 4 Providence 112 5 Marquette 150 6 DePaul 169 7 Xavier (Ohio) 204 8 Seton Hall 242 9 Creighton 254
Results at 2K do not mean much because five runners for GU are within 1 second of the lead. Unfortunately, Spencer Brown does not appear on our roster today. First mile in 5:08.

Great run for the men! Hopefully Spencer is back for Regionals and Nats
The spread for the women is great, and that sort of cluster would make noise in a bigger Nats-type field!
Pretty good weekend, all around. Go Hoyas!

I have been assured that Spencer will run at Regionals (barring another injury/illness). The women definitely have to finish in the top 2 at region because they do not have enough points to be selected as an at large. Villanova and Penn State are ahead of them on the regional rankings, but I think they could defeat at least one of them. They were fairly close to Nova at BE (they were ahead of them half way) and they actually beat Penn State early on, which Penn State scored as a multi-dual meet.

Video recap of the women's race. Not too much about the Hoyas except starting at 3:46 for the Big East performers. Hoyas had seven of the top 20.
