Time to take either NY or VA up on the offer to host their hub. They'll make a percentage of the losses back from those of us that respect a move that displays some social responsibility.

People barely notice Trump's flip flops on every issue because they already accept the fact he's f.o.s...
Literally every thing he proposed in this bi-partisan meeting he back off except for arming teachers. If adding more guns worked, we would be the safest country in the world.

A well-trained teacher. I will await the NRA counter-narrative with stories of armed teachers protecting their students. A teacher who is also a reserve police officer trained in firearm use accidentally discharged a gun Tuesday at Seaside High School in Monterey County, Calif., during a class devoted to public safety. A male student was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Monterey County Weekly, quoting Sand City Police Chief Brian Ferrante, reported that Alexander had his last gun safety training less than a year ago. “I have concerns about why he was displaying a loaded firearm in a classroom,” Ferrante told KSBW. “We will be looking into that.” www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2018/03/14/teacher-accidentally-discharges-firearm-in-calif-classroom-he-was-trained-in-gun-use/?utm_term=.5b0878456b75

Fascinating..... If you're just talking about cities, Indianapolis and Chicago are basically tied in this category. Gary Indiana is significantly above both.
As a matter of fact if you look at homicide death rate the highest rated solid blue state is Pennsylvania at #30... Odd, but maybe stricter gun laws do prevent gun deaths?

We've got another school shooting to add to the list. Nobody dead (yet) so I guess we don't need to get the thoughts and prayers rolling on this one.
EDIT - shooter is dead and one person is critical. People with a gun fetish really need to find a new hobby. The lack of gun control is insane.

President Donald Trump issued a memorandum Feb. 20 that pinned blame on his predecessor for determining bump stocks were legal, writing, “Although the Obama Administration repeatedly concluded that particular bump stock type devices were lawful to purchase and possess, I sought further clarification of the law.” Likewise Kellyanne Conway, a counselor to the president, told CNN in October, “It was President Obama’s ATF, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, in 2010 that decided not to regulate this device. That should be part of the conversation and part of the facts that you put before your viewers.” But documents obtained by BuzzFeed News show the Trump administration made the very same determination in April 2017 as the Obama administration had before, finding bump stocks, which can help guns fire more frequently, could not be banned under existing federal law. www.buzzfeed.com/dominicholden/trump-administration-bump-stocks?utm_term=.pr68JoaZo#.sfbqYoegoThat's why there needs to be a legislative fix for this...

But one is a kid, and the others are supposed to be adults... Minus the "sell more guns part", how is that different than many on the rights stances and comments on abortion? Is the everyone is too PC schtick we here often on the right applicable here?

It isn't any different. As I've posted before, IMO both sides of the gun debate take extremist positions, but you seem to post only one side. Just trying to present some balance.

You also seem to only post one side Dallas..... Their rhetoric might be extreme at times but since you say "both sides of the gun debate take extremist positions", can you provide a policy position they have advocated for that in your view is extreme?

Sure.... But one is a kid, and the others are supposed to be adults... Minus the "sell more guns part", how is that different than many on the rights stances and comments on abortion? It isn't any different. As I've posted before, IMO both sides of the gun debate take extremist positions, but you seem to post only one side. Just trying to present some balance. Here are the ideas they've advocated for, which ones in your opinion would qualify as an extremist position? I Couldn't find any polling on their last two proposals but will provide for the others. Parkland Kids’ Gun Reform Platform:1) Mandating universal background checks (87% support) Requiring that every gun buyer undergo a background check—including for transactions between friends, through private sellers at a gun show, and arranged online 2) Banning high-capacity ammunition magazines (73 percent support) Many rampage shootings, and a growing number of gun homicides and assaults in some cities, are carried out with firearms that can fire a dozen or more times before reloading. The more shots an assailant can get off, the greater the general odds of casualties. That’s why experts we’ve interviewed conclude that limiting how many rounds an ammunition magazine can hold, more so than outlawing assault-style rifles, may be more effective in reducing overall gun violence. 3) Banning assault-style weapons (banning assault-style weapons (72 percent) 4) Funding federal gun violence research One estimate holds that research on gun violence is underfunded by more than $1 billion, relative to other common causes of death. The shortfall is commonly attributed to the notorious 1996 Dickey Amendment, which forbade the CDC from funding research that can be seen as promoting gun control. CDC leaders, interpreting the stricture conservatively, have authorized almost no studies of gun violence at all in the ensuing 22 years. 5) Digitizing gun purchase records, so crime guns are easier to trace Until two years ago, federally licensed firearms dealers (or FFLs) could not keep digital sales records without first getting permission from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A rule change in April 2016 brought gun retailers into the twenty-first century. But they’re still not required to maintain digital records. And other hurdles remain: By law, the ATF may not maintain a registry of guns, gun sales, or gun owners, and the scans of gun store records that the ATF creates at its national tracing center must be left “non-searchable”: investigators can pull up the files pertaining to a given store, but then they have to flip through individual documents chronologically until they locate the record they are seeking The only policy intended to curb gun violence that is opposed by a majority of Americans (59 percent) is the one most frequently touted by President Trump — the idea of training teachers to carry guns in schools.Imo the fact the CDC can't research anything that can be seen as promoting gun control is an extreme policy that has been law for over 20 years. The fact that the ATF may not maintain a registry of guns, gun sales, or gun owners, and the scans of gun store records that the ATF creates at its national tracing center must be left “non-searchable” is another one. www.npr.org/2018/03/02/589849342/npr-poll-after-parkland-number-of-americans-who-want-gun-restrictions-growswww.vice.com/en_us/article/43bvw9/the-parkland-kids-gun-reform-platform-explainedwww.politico.com/story/2018/02/28/gun-control-polling-parkland-430099
