That might accurately state our position this season.

It will be interesting to see what Big East schools are involved in this mess. From everything I've heard, Nova is clean... but we can always hope.

This confirms what many of us have suspected for decades. I look at a lot of our past recruiting battles in a different light, and wonder if a lot of the top guys that listed us did so just to include a school perceived as clean and thus make it look like the final choice was based upon careful consideration and not a payoff. While we can never prove it, one wonders about guys that wound up at many of the power conferences.
Did we ever stand a chance with them, or did they visit to get free trip to DC? I know this sounds a bit paranoid but thIs appears so widespread that one wonders.
This all assumes, of course, that a report of an FBI subpoena served on the Hillltop does not come out tomorrow!

No one in the national college hoops media is talking about our lousy schedule anymore.
So we got that going for us, which is nice.

Some on the Louisville boards are delusional.
On Chris Mack: "Mack would come to UofL in a heartbeat if offered."

I think that's a legitimate case in terms of us losing out on some recruiting battles to potential cheating schools...

. The other one is in last place." And that would be us the last couple years. The losing has finally paid off.

I've seen Tom Crean's name already floated out there as a possible new head coach. JT III has to be the hottest coaching prospect now. Ran a clean program, the results are further proof of that.

It's still football season there. They won't even really realize there's no basketball game going on until mid-January.

Looks like Nike is now firmly in the crosshairs. . .which means Nike-affiliated schools will also be in the crosshairs. Merl Code, the Adidas Rep they arrested yesterday used to be the Director of Nike EYBL... He only spent maybe a year at Adidas. Duke and Kentucky would be the big fish in those waters.

It will be very interesting to watch the NCAA react to all of this. It will be very hard for them to sit back and claim they are still "investigating" when all the evidence is already on hand. They are going to have to make definitive statements about these schools and won't have the time they are accustomed to before they start hitting the schools with violations and subsequent ramifications.

The NCAA can't rush to judgment before the federal investigation is more complete (not necessarily completed - that could take years). It wouldn't be prudent to start issuing punishments when they don't even know the full extent of what happened. This thing could be so big that it easily overwhelms the NCAA resources. They would be wise to let the federal government take the lead for now.

I am working under the assumption that we are, by and large, clean here. Are we totally on the up and up? Probably not. But I feel confident that we will escape any of the serious allegations being hurled at some of these other schools. Yes we are a Nike school, but as we all know, that is largely because of the brand that was built 30+ years ago. All that being said....

Shut up Feinstein. You're a journalist. You knew 35 years ago that this crap went on. For 35 years as a journalist you didn't investigate or actually - you know - do any journalism about the industry you have covered. You kissed a bunch of asses so that you could write books and make money off a corrupt industry, and NOW you're finally writing about that corruption that you've known about for god damn ever. Get bent, you bum.
