Honk if you've got an offer from Georgetown....provided you have your license.

Local class of 2022 kid... "Paul VI Catholic has become the springboard for some of the top college prospects in recent years and Dug McDaniel looks to be next in line. Standing at 5-foot-8, McDaniel might not pass the look test, but a glance at the final box score - 13 points, 11 assists with just three turnovers - only begins to tell the story to just how good the freshman is. McDaniel is not just a fun watch but also a productive one. George Washington and Mount St. Mary’s are the first two programs that have offered, but more are sure to come between now and 2022." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/the-evans-awards-dc-national-hoopfest•Standing roughly 5-10, 140-pounds Knasir “Dug” McDaniels has taken over the point guard responsibilities for Paul VI with Jeremy Roach out and doing so in exciting fashion. The undersized guard plays with a confidence and maturity that catches you by surprise knowing he’s only a freshman. His passing and ball-handling kept the crowd entertained and will be a fun one to watch over the coming years.

BEST FRESHMAN: DUG MCDANIEL ‘The Kid’, as I am going to plaster the nickname alongside of, was again tremendous going up against another group of nationally recognized competition. Dug McDaniel announced himself onto the national scene two weeks ago, holding his own against the premier talent that Montverde and Nicolet boasted. At the City of Palms Classic, McDaniel wowed the crowd again with his remarkable playmaking acumen, dribble wizardry and quickness. Wake Forest offered McDaniel earlier this month but before long, don’t be surprised if and when the entire ACC has. McDaniel is mature beyond his years and also unafraid. He is one of the purest lead guards in America and despite his age and stature, there are not many that I would want running my team than the freshman star. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/anthony-carey-headline-city-of-palms-classic-awards

Dug McDaniel, PG, Paul VI There was a lot of buzz out of DC last weekend about freshman point guard Dug McDaniel and deservedly so. His numbers weren't eye popping in Paul VI's win over Immaculate Conception, but McDaniel an impressive feel for the game and a unique command for his team, despite his age. With Paul VI losing Jeremy Roach and Anthony Harris to ACL injuries, McDaniel was forced into a major role and he's responded magnificently. McDaniel is a ridiculous passer, both in the half court and in transition. He also plays at an impressive pace and does a great job of changing speeds. McDaniel finished with 11 points and five assists in Paul VI’s opening day win. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/City-of-Palms-Vernon-Carey-Trendon-Watford-Cole-Anthony-among-the-standouts-126574796/

In defeat, Jaden Bradley did all that he could to push his Cannon School to the win. A good-looking lead guard with great size and a presence about him, Bradley is another northern transplant as the New York native has the makings of an elite, blue blood prospect. He finished with 20 points and seven rebounds, all while taking just nine shots. His offer list includes Auburn, Florida, Georgetown and Wake Forest. Don’t be surprised whenever the elite enter the picture. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/crown-town-classic-jalen-cone-dazzles-isaiah-todd-produces

An athletic and tough 6-foot-2 guard, Bradley showed he can shoot and get to the rim, and that he is also more than capable of making others better. It is just the beginning for Bradley, but he no doubt has the chance to be a blue blood recruit before it is all said and done. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Patrick-Williams-DayRon-Sharpe-and-Bryan-Antoine-shined-on-day-one-of-the-John-Wall-Holiday-Invitational-126890402/

Along with those schools, interest is coming in from others, and Bradley has already had a chance to make a few college visits. “I’ve been to a couple of college games,” noted Bradley. “I think my biggest one was Kentucky versus Tennessee at Tennessee last year.” About that trip to Knoxville, Bradley said, “The home crowd was loud. Knowing it was against a top team in the nation, the crowd knew it had to bring energy, and it was just a great atmosphere.” While having this much attention this early in the process can be tough for some kids to handle, Bradley is keeping a level head about everything, and is focused on the process. “To me the attention means I have to keep working, and just trust the process so the schools that have offered stay interested, and so that others come in and offer as well,” explained Bradley. 247Sports won’t release an initial 2022 ranking for quite some time, but when the rankings are made, look for Bradley to be someone who has a chance to be ranked very highly. hoyatalk2.proboards.com/post/803649/quote/30452?page=2

Extremely impressive young player. Should have an offer from Pat and Co yesterday. There is just no other way to say it: McDaniel is the most mature and polished point guard prospect that I have covered this early in the process. Already receiving comparisons to Tyler Ullis, McDaniel is actually bigger than the former Kentucky standout at the same stage - and he may be an even better playmaker. McDaniel will have to grow some, as he is just 5-foot-9 and slender, but his skillset, passing ability and decision-making is already at an elite level. When five-star guard Jeremy Roach and Virginia Tech commit Anthony Harris went down with ACL injuries this past fall, Paul VI coach Glenn Farello gave the reins of his team’s offense to McDaniel, and the DC powerhouse stayed afloat. The freshman is a coach’s dream and the type of playmaker that anyone would love to play alongside. Wake Forest was the first to offer, but before long, other top programs will do the same, as McDaniel is set to have one of the more intriguing recruitments. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/evans-seven-an-early-look-at-top-2022-prospects

Extremely impressive young player. Should have an offer from Pat and Co yesterday. He might be small but the intellect, ball skills and wizardry from McDaniel only comes along every so often. He is one of the most polished play-makers that I have ever seen from someone at his grade level. Place scoring weapons around him and he will carve you up. Virginia Tech and Wake Forest have each offered and, despite his size, the talent level and imprint that he makes each time out should equate to a blueblood recruitment. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/ten-takeaways-from-three-days-at-the-nike-eybl
