UConn will not lose one guard to graduation after the season, so there is no glaring hole the Huskies will have to fill. Then again, if James Bouknight has a breakout season, chances are that the rising sophomore could jump to the NBA and leave a hole in the backcourt. It is for those reasons that the Huskies have invested plenty of time with some of the very best in the 2021 class and while the miss on El Ellis last week hurt some, all is not lost in Storrs. Dan Hurley and his staff sit in a very good spot with a bevy of the best guards and wings along the east coast including Rahsool Diggins, Trevor Keels, Jordan Riley, Jaylen Blakes, Jordan Hawkins, Quincy Allen and Jakai Robinson. It seems that a bigger shot-maker is the route they would like to take, which leads them to the DMV area. Diggins and Keels may be tough, while the higher academics have intrigued Blakes, but Hawkins, Allen and Robinson are three that the Huskies could have some traction with. Keep an eye on Robinson, and while Clemson and Seton Hall are also heavily involved, the Huskies should be monitored. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-chet-holmgren-alex-tchikou-georgia-techHigher academics? Don't mean to rag on you but this is a prime example of what I mean when I say that posters post things unrelated to Hoyas all the time in the threads. Why are we interested in what is going on at UConn? Can somebody please tell me this? I see posters posting about other schools all the time in these threads. Who are we rooting for Georgetown or all the other schools?

Why are we interested in what is going on at UConn? Can somebody please tell me this? I see posters posting about other schools all the time in these threads. Who are we rooting for Georgetown or all the other schools? If we are competing with these schools for recruits, we should be talking about them and what they are doing, IMO. If that team has five guards and we're going after a guard (against them), or if they have many openings at that position, we should talk about that and how it relates to who we may or may not get, considering all of these factors. Typically for us, if UNC, Kentucky, or Duke get involved (more recently), we lose the player. That's pretty important to know. Is that going to be the case for every player? Of course not, but it's something we should know about and who we will get. Acknowledging what other schools are doing does not mean we don't support Georgetown. I follow the general sport of college basketball and while the Hoyas are easily, by far my favorite team, I still know what's going on with other teams and how it could effect the Hoyas. I like to know what other schools are doing and who may be favored for a certain player, or what they are doing well that should be looked at and improved for our team. Favorites don't always get the player, but I still like knowing about them. I've mentioned this in other threads too. When it's relevant to what we are doing or the conversation, I feel we should look at our competition and see what they are doing and compare that/see how it relates to what we are doing. Some programs go after more transfers, some programs have better chances with certain players, etc. So, talking about other teams doesn't mean that it's unrelated to the Hoyas. This can relate to recruiting (like in this case), preseason predictions, how to improve defense, etc.

Yeah, I don't think I phrased my original post very well, but I still think you could see my point. I'm fine at leaving it here, but I feel I should mention this just to be more clear. Also, the post from Aminu Mohammed's guardian was really funny and it really shows the impact that Pat can have on the parents/guardians of these guys. It shows we're making a good push for a very talented kid from the area, which is always a positive thing.

I believe hoyaboya posted the original article because it mentions some of the local recruits that Georgetown is pursuing (Keels, Robinson, Hawkins, Allen). Personally, I typically post Tweets and articles when Georgetown is mentioned, but others will post anything about any of the recruits Georgetown is involved with so that people here can understand their recruitment and what schools are competing with the Hoyas for those recruits.

The answer is 2021’s No. 25 player Matthew Cleveland of Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy. I know that Corey and Dan feel the same way. He was ridiculous last weekend. So, how about another name to spread the love some? Give me 2021 point guard Darius Johnson who I watched play in the Virtual Prospect Evaluation Series run by Team Parsons in Florida throughout June. A 6-foot-1 floor general who currently ranks just outside of the Rivals150, Johnson’s explosive playmaking and his ability to fill it up from deep really stood out to me. His play during the VPES earned him offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgetown and Providence. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable-players-who-have-impressed-recently

Cleveland has not said when he will announce his college decision but there is a fair chance that he will attempt to visit his finalists one more time before committing. For now, on-campus recruiting is barred until August 31 and if that moratorium is extended much beyond that date, Cleveland could commit sight unseen. In the meantime, Florida State has garnered most of the talk with him. Michigan has picked up ground, too, since the Wolverines offered earlier in the spring. If there is one program to keep an eye on, it is Stanford. The Cardinal have a great selling point which is replacing five-star Ziaire Williams after the season. It is not every year that a talent like Williams selects a program like the Cardinal which is why Jerod Haase’s bunch needs to hit while the iron is hot. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-illinois-alabama-arkansas-florida

I don’t think the Hoyas have shown interest in Matthew Cleveland yet.

Multiple tweets in this thread. Very thoughtful and hopefully Georgetown stays in close contact.

In the twitter thread with Aminu Muhammad’s guardian, Duval Simmonds commented. That’s Wahab’s trainer/mentor. I think he’s active in the grassroots in the DMV. He’s also a big name in N.J. coming from Orange. Was a great high school player with lots of contacts up there. From what I’ve read from him on Twitter, he’s very positive about Georgetown and Ewing.
