To answer your question, yes, they'd be recruiting over Beard and Harris. Harris wouldn't have a leg to stand on to be mad, because as a low-ranked recruit, he had to know he'd be recruited over when he chose Georgetown over his other options (low- and mid-majors). I don't see it that way, I think competition should always be expected and coaches should always be bringing in the best players they can in each class. I don't want to derail this thread though so I'll just agree to disagree. Really happy to see Coach Pat staying on Hawkins. Baldwin mentioning the Hoyas is good too, but that's an uphill battle to say the least. Keep grinding Pat. Agree with you 100% re: expecting competition. If guys don't want to get recruited over, they should commit to improving and proving themselves on the court. We aren't nearly good enough at this point to hold out guys who demonstrate they can contribute, so if any kid can play anything resembling something close to winning basketball, there will be minutes to be had.

I get it. Georgetown fans are getting a bit anxious and the pressure is on for Patrick Ewing to deliver his best class yet in 2021. The Hoyas are involved for a slew of Rivals150 prospects but who are they in the best position for? Ryan Mutombo, the son of former Hoyas great Dikembe Mutombo, would be my best guess. He broke out this winter and transformed into a nationally relevant name within recruiting circles. Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Texas A&M are among those that have also offered, but the Hoyas should feel good with their chances thanks to its strong connections with him. Georgetown has also made the final five for Moussa Cisse who will likely reclassify into the 2020 class, could potentially host Chet Holmgren in the fall, made the final 10 for Patrick Baldwin and is a finalist for Jaden Hardy, Benny Williams and Ike Cornish. Don’t sleep on the Hoyas chances with Aminu Mohammed, Gabe Dorsey, Franck Kepnang or Mac Etienne, either. Georgetown will enroll an expansive class this fall but the 2021 group is where they may have to find its greatest success. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-patrick-baldwin-moussa-cisse-georgetown

Saw him play last summer for K-Low. Caught him again in November and at the end of January. Was like watching two different players. The growth in his game in seven to eight months is MIND BLOWING! He's got the full package and had only been playing organized hoops for 2 years. One of my favorite players in the entire 2021 class...

“I feel like I’m one of the most underrated high-major prospects out there being that I was hurt last year and missing peach jam. Thats why moving to play for Coach Lowe to play on a national platform to showcase that I’m a dog and I can get busy is the best move for me,” Nixon said.
Among the programs currently recruiting Nixon during this quarantine and so forth: “I’ve been hearing from Auburn, Iowa, East Carolina, George Washington, Seton Hall, St.Johns, Tennessee, Iona, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Marquette during these weeks of Quarantine.”
Nixon also gave his personal scouting report:
“I can score the ball on all three levels, IQ, Versatile player, and very athletic. Plus, I could guard multiple positions.”

A 6-foot-7 forward that might be best used in a small ball power forward role, David Joplin is a strong and versatile prospect in the frontcourt. Situated just a 15-minute drive from downtown Milwaukee, Joplin just completed his junior season with the Brookfield Central High program. He averaged nearly 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks on the season, while making almost half of his shots from the field and close to 38-percent of his perimeter attempts. A member of the 2021 class, Joplin already possesses a strong, college-ready frame that should suit him well as he gets older. Joplin has already begun to make a name for himself thanks to his play last summer with the Meanstreets program on the 16-under level, and with his local high school unit over the winter. He has received offers from Offered by DePaul, Georgetown, Green Bay, Milwaukee, UNLV and Valparaiso, while Butler is another that has shown heavy interest in him. He has also visited the campuses at Butler, Iowa, Loyola Chicago, and Wisconsin in recent months. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/introducing-versatile-forward-david-joplinName: David Joplin Offers: Butler, Missouri, Georgetown, DePaul, UNLV A versatile forward, Joplin had a very good high school season, and since then his recruitment has picked up in a major way. At around 6-foot-6 or 6-foot-7, Joplin can play either forward spot, though he might be best as a mismatch power forward. Joplin saw his stock rise even without the aid of summer basketball, and it is likely that more offers come his way before it is all said and done. His toughness and skill at his size have a lot of high-majors intrigued, and offers are being made as more coaches get their hands on his film. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Basketball-recruiting-Kansas-Villanova-Rahsool-Diggins-North-Carolina-DMarco-Dunn-Xavier-Texas-Illinois-Jahmai-Mashack-147383306/#147383306_2

Three-star wing Casey Simmons likely would have been one of the few trending names after the evaluation periods last month but despite the recruiting shutdown, he still found a way to catch the attention of a number of high-major coaching staffs.
Simmons’ junior high school season tape shows his improved perimeter jumpshot, his size and length and also his positional versatility.
Running with the Mass Rivals program, Simmons already held offers from Brown, Northwestern, Penn, Rhode Island, Temple and Yale coming into April, and had taken unofficial visits to Penn, Rhode Island, Temple and Yale within the past year.
His recruitment took a change for the better last week with offers from Boston College, Georgetown and Texas, and it won’t be long before more high-majors jump into the picture. Miami, Pitt, UConn and Xavier have also expressed interest.
Simmons is not anywhere near deciding, but he was hoping to take official visits to Northwestern and Penn this spring before the pandemic hit. Once on and off campus recruiting is allowed, Simmons might be one of the more recruited prospects in the region.Definitely shows what his priorities may be in choosing a program... Name: Casey Simmons Offers: Boston College, Georgetown, Miami, Xavier, Texas, Penn State, Northwestern, Iona, Rhode Island A big-time athlete, Simmons began to breakout last July while playing with the Mass Rivals on the adidas circuit. With a lot of interest already, that interest turned into offers as Simmons saw his list really explode during the months of April and May. Now nearing double figure offers, Simmons is someone who has his choice of numerous quality options. He has the size and athleticism to defend virtually anywhere, along with good feel for the game. Now his outside shot is beginning to develop, and even though he wasn’t on the circuit this spring, coaches have decided he is worth an offer. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Basketball-recruiting-Kansas-Villanova-Rahsool-Diggins-North-Carolina-DMarco-Dunn-Xavier-Texas-Illinois-Jahmai-Mashack-147383306/#147383306_3

4:45 mark talks a little about recruiting. Mentions that Georgetown is close to home, plays in a great conference, and offers the chance to play for Coach Ewing. One of the most intriguing storylines in basketball recruiting in the last month and a half has been the high major offer surge for Angelo Brizzi. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound 2021 point guard from Warrenton (Va.) Highland had a long list of mostly low to mid major offers exiting his high school season. Since the beginning of April? Villanova, Georgetown, California, Colorado, Virginia Tech, LSU and Michigan have all come through with offers. The wave of offers has been a surprise even for Brizzi. “I really couldn’t even tell you what happened,” Brizzi said. “Me and my dad have been sending out tape but I couldn’t even tell you; all of this just kind of happened.” “I know that I’m looking for a program with great culture where I connect with coaches and like the campus. I’ll go anywhere, near or far.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Villanova-Georgetown-California-Colorado-Virginia-Tech-LSU-Michigan-basketball-recruiting-Angelo-Brizzi-147044307/Name: Angelo Brizzi Offers: Michigan, Villanova, LSU, Marquette, Georgetown, Colorado, California He was a mystery to man before Villanova offered, but since his high school film began circulating, the offers have come in, in a major way. A legit point guard with size and shot making, Brizzi had some impressive moments as a junior, and he is beginning to see some of the nation’s best programs join the mix in his recruitment. Brizzi is an excellent passer with deep range, and while he can try to do too much at times, he shows his natural ability off quite often. Look for more schools to join the mix with Brizzi as his stock is only going to continue to go up. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Basketball-recruiting-Kansas-Villanova-Rahsool-Diggins-North-Carolina-DMarco-Dunn-Xavier-Texas-Illinois-Jahmai-Mashack-147383306/#147383306_3

Gabe Dorsey received an offer from Georgetown Year 2021 Position SG Height 6-5 Hometown Pottstown, PA Name: Gabe Dorsey Offers: Penn State, Xavier, Harvard, Georgetown, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Providence, VCU Dorsey is an elite student, so that always helps when garnering interest, but his play has also done a lot of talking, which is why the offer list has really been extended this spring. At right around 6-foot-6, Dorsey can really shoot the basketball. Shot making is his best attribute, but he also has the ability to defend with a combination of intelligence, length and size on the wing. He has gotten more athletic in the past year as well, and that is a big reason why his offer list is on the rise as more schools see his film. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Basketball-recruiting-Kansas-Villanova-Rahsool-Diggins-North-Carolina-DMarco-Dunn-Xavier-Texas-Illinois-Jahmai-Mashack-147383306/#147383306_7

As we look closer at the class of 2021 and potential breakout guys when we get back to the action, there was an easy choice in the state of Tennessee. Hamilton Heights class of 2021 wing Drew Williams came right to mind. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward has the tools that will attract a wide swath of college programs. He was an eye-catcher with the ultra-successful Hamilton Heights team, picking his spots to shine and utilize his next-level versatility. College coaches from all level and all corners of the country know the HH roster is always filled with great prospects. Williams is certainly one of those players. Sure, recruiting is a new frontier right now with the world on lockdown. But the 24/7 cycle of college coaches trying to win over prospects isn’t going away any time soon. Williams said he’s taking the shift if the process with stride. “I honestly feel like everything is still going good,” he said. “It’s not traditional but I still thank God for the opportunities I do have. I’ve been doing Zoom calls.” Williams has been recently offered by South Carolina and Kent State. Williams added that he has interest from Loyola Chicago, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Wake Forest and Tennessee State. Williams said he has already been on the on the campuses of Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. hoopseen.com/news/player/202005/college-programs-are-catching-2021-drew-williams

Jalen Warley among others Don’t look for an early decision from Jalen Warley, who is one of the most well-rounded guards in the 2021 class. I was expecting Warley to become a nationally prioritized recruit this spring and even though he was unable to showcase his abilities on the travel circuit, his recruitment has still taken off. Marquette, Maryland, Oregon and Pitt have recruited Warley for the longest and it seems that they are in a good spot. Florida State has come to value bigger guards like Warley and he seems to have strong interest in the ACC power. Louisville, Michigan and Memphis are a few other programs to monitor. Look for Warley to play the process out further and visit a few of his potential suitors once visits are allowed. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-s-leftovers-indiana-jonathan-kuminga-jalen-warley

NC State. The Wolfpack are the team to beat for four-star junior Roosevelt Wheeler. They have invested the most into his recruitment and is the only program to have already hosted him on an official visit. Just two weeks ago, we reported the news that Kevin Keatts was on hand for one of Wheeler's games and I would expect for Wheeler to remain their top big man priority in the 2021 class. Will that lead to an early commitment? I am not sure but I am fairly certain that the Wolfpack have already laid the groundwork that might lead to the John Marshall High product playing for Keatts in Raleigh. Georgetown , Kansas, Miami, Providence and Virginia Tech sit among the others that have offered. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-s-leftovers-texas-tech-five-stars-roosevelt-wheelerRoosevelt Wheeler is not someone that I see going far away from home for college. Kansas is in the mix for Wheeler, one of the best true centers in the 2021 class, but NC State holds my FutureCast for him. Don’t count out Louisville, Georgetown, Miami or VCU, either. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wednesday-s-leftovers-indiana-jonathan-kuminga-jalen-warley
