Patrick already said he was going to Connecticut tomorrow. The only reason he would NOT be going is if Waters has made it clear that he is no longer interested in or willing to consider Georgetown. To suggest that Ewing not going would signal a conscious decision and preference by him to make the media rounds instead has absolutely zero basis, and in my opinion reeks of fan malpractice. I think Hoya fans are just about the definition of fan malpractice.

This seems like more of what I thought from the beginning. The release was a showing of good will. Now we need to go close the deal.

I think the release was calculated. Pat can go in and say I'm not trying to get you to honor your commitment, you made that to a different person. I wanted to make sure you were completely free before I got here. I want you to commit to me. And then remind him of the school and legacy and academics etc. and then hit him with uptempo, NBA offense. Tell him he can chat with iverson all he wants as soon as it's allowed. And tell him to watch Kamba walker and see if he wants to run that offense.

Now PE needs to go in and remind Tremont of all the reasons he committed to us in the first place with the added bonus of playing in an NBA scheme now

MOD NOTE: Thread title edit after Waters released from Georgetown NLI. Open advocacy for fans of the program to send twitter messages to a recruit dances close to prohibited actions such that the thread title is now not appropriate. Please check out the following in the Recrjuiting forum: hoyatalk2.proboards.com/thread/24071/gu-compliance-informationspecifically:

This is how Georgetown should always do business. We operate the right way. Kid wants Release from his LOI after coaching change; give it to him.
Now Tremont can convince Patrick that Georgetown still wants him.
WE ARE GEORGETOWN.

He better be going. We kept this kid on hold for a month for a reason. If Ewing's too busy doing media that he can't even get down to CT to try to woo the best recruit we've had in years, why should I have any faith in him? If the door is even the slightest bit still open for Waters to come, then you need to go and make that pitch to him. If Waters, or his Dad, have said that no matter what you say, I am not coming to Georgetown, then I don't see the need to waste any time going. Ewing has a a lot of stuff that he needs to accomplish and he needs to do it quickly, so chasing a kid who might have told you already that you have no chance at him, is not a good use of time. I hope there is still a chance and I hope he goes and makes his pitch, not because fans want to see him do it, but because he has chance to get the kid back.
