One thing is for sure, Ewing’s creative recruiting practices need to continue to fill out the roster for next season (5th year transfers, regular transfers with immediate or half-season eligibility, international pipeline, decommits, rabbits out of the hat, etc. All options are on the table.

Shaun Williams is looking for a new place to call home. Williams, a sophomore guard on Kansas State’s men’s basketball team, entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He all but confirmed his departure himself on his personal Twitter account Wednesday afternoon. In his five appearances this season, Williams averaged 9.1 minutes, 3.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Upon Williams’ return against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, fellow guard Cartier Diarra couldn’t contain his excitement. “He can create plays for people. You’ve seen in the past last year, he’s had good games,” Diarra said. “I remember one game he had 10 (points) and six assists in like nine minutes, so he’s really capable of doing good things. I’m looking forward to that and him getting in the rotation.” “He’s got the size. He’s got the body,” Weber said in September of Williams, who is 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds. “He’s a great passer.” themercury.com/k_state_sports/sophomore-guard-shaun-williams-leaving-kansas-state-s-men-s/article_89852454-32a9-52a6-ab0c-f498aff7f561.htmlAnyone have any insights into why he was suspended from K State earlier this year? I am not pre judging the player, but I have to think that the Hoyas are going to steer clear of any kids who have even a sniff of trouble in their recent background after the recent issues. Might not be fair to the program or the player, but it is reality at this point.

Barry looks like a good fit for a 3 pt specialist. Still need a point guard in addition, but I hope staff takes a look. He appears to be a ball mover which will also be in high demand next season... ivyhoopsonline.com/2019/09/30/dartmouth-senior-guard-brendan-barry-out-for-season-with-injury/Barry has been a major focal point of Dartmouth’s offense the past two seasons, ranking second on the team and 11th in the Ivy League last season at 13.2 points per game. He also was a pivotal ball distributor for the Big Green, boasting the conference’s highest assist-to-turnover ratio for the second straight season as a junior. But Barry is perhaps most well-known for his three-point shooting and has posted one of the top two highest three-point percentages across the league in all three of his seasons at Dartmouth, shooting 44.5% for his career. Barry also led the Ivy League last season in minutes played after finishing second in that category as a sophomore, underscoring how significant of a loss Barry’s sidelining for the 2019-20 season will be.

Given his connection to Georgetown, I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Ewing has at least heard about Brendan Barry.

That Columbia duo looks like a great way to go. Smith looks like a player for sure and getting an experienced forward at this point would be huge. Hopefully they have a good relationship with each other and would be excited about the chance to go somewhere together.

A 6-foot-9, 235–pound forward, Ngumezi started the first seven games of the year for the Bulldogs, averaging 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He was suspended by head coach Tom Crean back on Dec. 4, prior to Georgia’s game against North Carolina Central, and has not played since. “There is a combination of factors involved in this decision, all of which are associated with his lack of personal awareness and the attitude expected of a Georgia Basketball player,” Crean said in a one-paragraph statement when the suspension was first announced. Crean was asked about Ngumezi prior to practice Thursday and indicated at the time that he didn’t expect him returning to the team anytime soon. uga.rivals.com/news/ngumezi-in-transfer-portal

Any word on what happened to him at USC? Lack of playing time... www.latimes.com/sports/usc/story/2019-12-16/chuck-obannon-jr-leaving-usc-basketball-entering-ncaa-transfer-portalSince signing as a top-100 recruit in 2017, O’Bannon Jr. struggled to carve out a consistent role at USC. He played in 14 games as a freshman and averaged just 1.3 points per game. After playing 10 minutes in the Trojans’ season opener as a sophomore, O’Bannon Jr. never returned to USC’s lineup, sitting out the rest of the season with an injury. As a redshirt sophomore, in a rotation suddenly flush with top recruits, O’Bannon Jr. has played in just three of USC’s 11 games this season, with only 19 minutes and two made free throws to his name.

Any word on what happened to him at.......? This will be the #1 question of the year or at least until we fill or roster for 2020-2021! We need to have a better screening process or a 24-7 mid-adult sitter for these new additions. I didn't like being referred to in the same conversations as a Cuse.
