Blair reminds me of DSR- an undersized crafty SG with the ability to score in a variety of ways. Like him a lot. Please post about Blair in his thread Bigs, this thread is for Jagan..

So much board rage. 🤡 Anyway, I'm a big fan of Jagan. He was a factor on Saturday.

The point many of us are trying to make is that their games are too dissimilar. Markel was a much more skilled ballhandler, a craftier passer, a step quicker and he possessed a better shooting form, including a nice pullup jumper. Jagan is taller, stronger, far more athletic, a better defender, a better finisher in the paint and sees the court better IMO. Jagan doesn't have anywhere near a semi-reliable shot yet and has a weaker handle. I appreciate the comparisons and agree that Starks, by his senior year, was all of those things. But I still feel that they are similar in that at this point is his GU career, Starks was viewed, like Mosley, as not likely to become the player he became by his junior/senior year. In short, I'm proposing (hoping?) that Mosley s a late bloomer.

Can someone tell me what injury precipitated the shoulder brace Moseley wears? Some of his passes seem to lack ummmph and therefore are too low for alley up pass or cross court pass. Also seemed reluctant to power dribble through press with his left hand dribble Saturday against Syracuse.

Also much longer wingspan for Jagan at 6-9 wingspan.

Pretty sure had some minor surgery done on the shoulder late in the summer, he may not be 100% yet..

You can see what an athlete he is on that clip. He could be a force as an upperclassman.

Love this young man. He always gives up the respect when I see him at Kenner. He helps his auntie out of the gym after his games. She's a very nice woman and never forgets me. LOL! Salute! That dunk though was SICK vs. St. John's in the Garden!

If Jagan can develop an outside shot that he has confidence in he would be such an asset to this team. He has other things to work on but being a consistent outside threat in his Junior year would be HUGE.
Other posters have said that his shot recently shows signs of improvement but with such a small sample size it is really hard to tell. Instead of 1 or 2 three pointers a game I'd really like to see him with 3 or 4 attempts. When the bigs kick out of a double team and Jagan passes up an open three I cringe... would love to see him with better confidence in those situations.

I really like Jagan as a player and the way he plays the game. I don't think he is ever an all conference player or a NBA prospect, but he is the type of player that good teams need to have on the team. He plays hard and is trying to make the right plays. If he can continue to improve his shooting and ball security he becomes a real cornerstone of this program for the next few years. He is a good combo guard, but he does get exposed occasionally when he has to handle the ball too much. He seems to be a really hard worker so I am sure he is working hard to improve his ball handling and passing.

I'm sure Jagan believes in himself.

Have been high on him since last year and waiting for the breakout game this year. I think that this kid is special as a potential leader on this team. Desperately needs to improve the outside shot and to eliminate or at least reduce the efforts at highlight reel passes. I like having him on the floor as the 6th man because he can sub in for Pickett or Kaleb and even at pg in a pinch. However, no one should go overboard and think that he can replace Mulmore at this point. He simply does not have the handle or the quickness to guard a pg.

Markel had a much better handle, could get to the hole and play it off the glass, much better jumper. No, he didnt dunk, but he ran the team well and was very quick. No, he didn't dunk. They are two different players.
No complaints about Jagan, but I liked Markel's game more. With Jagan, a money jumper would elevate his game quite a bit. Hes got a lot going for him as a leader and heart.
