No, Markel was a highly skilled guard. I consider Jagan a smart, heady player who knows where to be on the floor but very limited skill wise. It's a lot harder to project a similar growth to Markel.

Merkel was much sharper. If we had someone with his skills now, many would not be advocating for a point guard. In my mind he was slowed down in his freshman year. I believe Chris Wright was in front of him...loved his game.

Nope. And, apparently, Jagan can dunk now

You have to love the guy's attitude. Nice reminder of how hard the athletes work. I hope Jagan and all of the other athletes get at least a little time to decompress after a long first semester.

I guess I just remember being very unimpressed by Starks his first two years, sorta like I feel about Jagan now but every once in a while you saw sparks in Starks second year like I saw Saturday with Mosley.

The point many of us are trying to make is that their games are too dissimilar. Markel was a much more skilled ballhandler, a craftier passer, a step quicker and he possessed a better shooting form, including a nice pullup jumper. Jagan is taller, stronger, far more athletic, a better defender, a better finisher in the paint and sees the court better IMO. Jagan doesn't have anywhere near a semi-reliable shot yet and has a weaker handle.

I think Jagan is the key to any success this team has this year, but I do not see any improvement in his shot from deep. Unless and until that happens teams will simply back off as Syracuse did and dare him to shoot. When they drop off of him--or Mulmore or Dickerson--they can make it that much harder to get the entry pass to Govan and MD. It is the real challenge for this coaching staff heading into conference. If they move MD or Govan outside, it eliminates whatever rebounding this team can muster--at least until Walker develops, or Pickett gains more strength. We simply have to generate a reliable outside threat at the 1-2. Despite his improvement Kaleb is at best a spot up shooter from deep who needs time and space to get his shot off. My only thought is to periodically move either Govan or MD outside, hopefully drawing their man with them and allowing one of our taller perimeter players to crash the boards where a strong guard like Mosley might become a rebounding force like DSR once provided. Outside shooting is a real problem with this roster.

If Jagan reminds me of anyone from the past it is Brilly. They are both intense defenders that can get you a bucket from time to time. They both can penetrate but it's more physical than quickness....

I think Blair can be a serviceable shooter and McClung can stroke it. That said, we are going to need more help and Mosely to work on his shooting.

I believe Chris Wright was in front of him...loved his game. Wright didn't do a great job of helping to groom Starks at the point guard position. Maybe Wright was still learning how to be a true point guard himself.

Juggy makes good decision on the ball. Hmmm. He can play both guard positions. I don' understand why we haven't seen this. I saw this during Kenner.

Blair reminds me of DSR- an undersized crafty SG with the ability to score in a variety of ways. Like him a lot.

I didn't see his post honestly.. Yes, this thread is about Mosely not Blair.. What's the point of having thread titles if any topic can be brought up?

What's the point of having thread titles if any topic can be brought up? Honestly, you didn't want to see his post and he's not the only one. So what this post is about Mosely, not Blair. This doesn't mean we cannot mention his teammate. What kind of poop you eating over there Eidiot? You're full of it. Why don't you ask everyone else this question? Some of you create arguments for only your purposes. How idiotic can one be?
