Don't care.
Worried about Georgetown being relevant again.

We are all worried about being relevant.
Having UConn in the Big East would be a good thing. Especially when we do become relevant again.

Could you keep round robin with 11? Is 20 league games allowed, too many, etc.

Not sure I want them but it might be okay. I just do not want to be nearby when the meteor hits.

I'm all for it and keeping the round robin.
BET would instantly be better too. Lots more knuckleheads.

I think adding Connecticut, but stopping at 11 teams would be ideal. There is no 12th team that is remotely as good as Connecticut, and 11 allows sticking to the round robin. As long as terms could be worked out that in no way harm the Big East if Connecticut tries to eventually bolt (i.e., big payment to the Big East), it's an easy call in my mind.

I went to high school in Connecticut, and since my first contact with UConn fans then I've sincerely wished that program to wither and die. I'm sure the America East will take them.

Couldn't agree more with dailey, live in CT entire life and they are the worst fanbase in sports. Want nothing to do with them in BE.

There is no such thing; perhaps on par, but not worse.

I really like the idea of adding Connecticut. I tend to agree that we should stop there. If anything, I think if Connecticut parked football elsewhere and focused on a basketball league, it might send a really interesting signal to other schools in the years to come. It'd be a great move for the league. But I also won't shed many tears if it doesn't happen. The Big East is a good league. It has worked out better than we could have predicted. I just want us to be competitive in it.

It's a no brainer to take UCONN as the more high level basketball programs we can bring in adds legitimacy to the conference that can't be ignored by the media that wants to ignore.
I agree with the post that says we lock them down that they don't bolt for a better offer from a football league without paying up.
I think they will be the first to go this route. I think Syracuse and Pitt in a few years will wish this football move for them never happened.

The UConn's, Pitt's, Syracuse and BC's of the world should look to form their own football only conference and consider placing all other sports in the Big East. It would be huge from a basketball perspective but it would bolster all the other sports also. It would add some significant population and TV markets without having to go outside of the Northeast geographically. It stings that they all abandoned the Big East for the football money but maybe they are all having second thoughts at this point. If it would put the Big East in a position to dictate some terms on how they were allowed back into the conference it probably would be considered.

They had an epically unethical coach who took them down a sleazy path to the top. Now that he is gone, they will linger in obscurity and their fan base, as noted, will continue to suck. The BEast has no use for them and should not overlook the scheming they (unsuccessfully) did to screw their way out of the league. PASS

It was called the Big East Football Conference. It imploded. That ain't gonna happen. UConn? Maybe. The others? No chance.

Uh, they did. It was called the Big East Football Conference. It imploded. That ain't gonna happen. UConn? Maybe. The others? No chance. This is right. The only reason Connecticut would have any interest in the Big East is solely because they cannot get one of the "Power 5" football conferences to take them. If the ACC expanded and gave them an invite, they'd be there instantly. That's why there's absolutely no chance that Pittsburgh, Syracuse, or any similar team would leave the ACC for the Big East as long as football reigns supreme and brings in the big bucks. Keep in mind these football schools are making substantial sums from their television contracts. The Fox Sports Big East deal is a good one for basketball, but it pales in comparison to the football money of the other conferences.
