Don't worry about the database--these are often not updated and I can tell you for a fact that the only teams that Macklin is considering at this time are the Hoyas and Wake Forest--this comes from his AAU Coach Boo Williams. Some might come on later, but at this time these two are the leaders and NBA is their biggest competition at this point.

Yea, I've heard that he's down to GU and Wake if he does in fact go to college. The NBA is really the wildcard though. Supposedly he's interested in making the jump, even though most seem to think he's not ready.
The age limit thing is up in the air right now which makes everything more complex. Stern wants to put a rule in place that requires players to be at least 20 years old before entering, and he wants to do so with the new collective bargaining agreement, meaning it would take effect this summer. If they put it in place, it'll prevent guys from Macklin's class from making the jump. Theres a good chance a lockout will happen over the new CBA though, that'll happen probably right after this years draft (late June). Stern may well give up his push for an age limit in negotiations, or he may stick to it. If the negotiations and the lockout linger on, it may affect Macklins commitment. If he's really serious about the NBA, he might wait a while to sign, knowing hell still have an offer later. Or, more likely, he'll commit to either us or wake, and defer a decision about the NBA til later once the new CBA is established and he sees what kinda buzz is around him this time next year.

... or regular season NBA! ;D I'll still take that over the 162 monstrosity known as the MLB regular season. Take it over NFL camp, spring training and spring football too.

actually I was just trying to get your goat, MCI! heheheh. I like NBA too, although not near as much as MLB. However, if I'd have said NHL instead of NBA, then I wouldn't have been kidding!

I actually like all four major sports. But the baseball season is simply too long, that's something I've always said. And I can't stand the training camp coverage of any of these sports. The only ones I picked on were the NFL's and MLB's because those two are hyped to death. There is only one sports which I truly love all year round (regular season, post season, off season, recruiting, practice leading up to the season, etc) and that's college basketball.

when you consider that the NHL regular season is basically meaningless given that all a team really needs is 1.5 productive lines and a hot goal tender to win the stanley cup (i.e. Tampa Bay) and that the NHL's regular season is one mind numbingly long monstrosity that takes valuable programming hours away from other ESPN2 sports such as log rolling, dogs jumping off docks to catch things, drag racing, and cheerleading competitions - and that i didn't actually miss it this past year - the NHL definitely has the most boring season - in addition NHL regular season games can end in 0-0 ties.
