Glad to see the Hoyas have offered this kid. I saw a little bit of the game IMG had against Oak Hill over the weekend and he was constantly harassing the point guard from Oak Hill and playing some tremendous defense. Hopefully the staff stays on this player because he would be a great addition.

When it comes to pure scoring ability and explosive athletic ability, Jaden Springer can hang with any player in the country, regardless of class. The 6-foot-4 scorer from North Carolina plays the game in attack mode and never backs down from a challenge. Put it this way, he’s not out there to not shoot the ball and one way or another he’s going to get his buckets. That confidence allows him to score in any situation but it can also get him into a little bit of trouble at times where he simply tries to do too much. Also, he’s tended to rely a little bit too much on his athleticism which has led to some questionable shot selection at times. Springer will learn patience and shot selection as he gets more experienced, what is more important is that he’s fixing a previous worry, his jump shot. Playing with Bobby Maze Elite in Under Armour’s Association, Springer shot 38.2 percent from the three-point line and looked much more comfortable as a jump shooter. Should he continue along that path, he’s going to make a very strong case for the 2020 top 10. -- Eric Bossi basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/making-the-case-three-players-who-could-land-in-top-10-for-2020Evans' view: It would be difficult to leave the gym on Sunday evening and not be impressed by Jaden Springer. Already slotted as a five-star prospect, Springer looked the part and played like it where he scored with toughness at the basket, converting one of the more impressive finishes against gigantic Illinois commit Kofi Cockburn, He shows versatility as a handler and scorer and he's in terrific shape. One of the youngest members of the 2020 class, Springer is being courted by Auburn, Clemson, NC State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others,. Don’t be surprised if he were to continue to make a name for himself and cement his standing as an elite guard prospect nationally. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/hoophall-classic-sunday-bossi-and-evans-rival-viewsWhile Springer doesn’t know where he wants to go to school, he does know what factors will be important to him when the time comes. “I want to see things beyond basketball,” said Springer. “I know my mom will be real concerned with the education, and then I want to go somewhere that will push me to become an even better player. It is all about finding the best fit.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Jaden-Springer-was-dominant-at-the-Flyin-to-the-Hoop-event-and-talks-recruiting-128027507/

Elijah Wood is announcing tomorrow. I can't imagine who would sign him. I've seen him play a few times and he is the 4th best player on his team. No handle, no shot, no hussle, and no defense. He's a 6'4" guard who isn't close to ready. He can occasionally make really good passes, but there is so much lacking in his game. He was picked and blocked many times by public high school team Walt Whitman. Whitman had their 3rd best defender on him and he owned him. He has a wide wingspan, but not much of a game nor athleticism to go with it. Maryland assistant (and former Hoya assistant) Kevin Broadus was at tonight's game until not long after half.

A near seven-footer from Virginia, Mark Williams is very much a work in progress but he is one with significant upside. Like Xavier Foster, I was impressed with Williams activity and refusal to be a casual bystander while guards zipped up and down the court around him. He can run, he has long arms, sneaky bounce off the floor and the makings of a dangerous go to move in a jump hook that he can drop over the top of pretty much anybody. He's also got some touch and when he doesn't rush it, can make a mid range jumper. Strength will come with physical maturity but he's already a pretty good rim protector and has a great attitude. He mentioned that he's been on campus at Virginia, Virginia Tech and North Carolina and rattled off a school list that also included the likes of California, VCU, TCU, Stanford, Penn State, Rutgers, LSU, Georgetown, Oklahoma State and Clemson among others. Corey Evans @coreyevans_10 Virginia Tech is in tonight for four-star junior Mark Williams

Not sure if he can defend BE players, but clearly he can put the ball in the hoop. 😋

Baldwin is ranked behind Curbelo who Hoyas also have an offer out to and have recently been talking to. This could get interesting. Now wondering about a trip to Baltimore for a St. Francis game (known affectionately here as the school across from Arkham Asylum). Finding playmaking point guards who are smart about the game and are all about putting others before themselves is not easy to find in today’s world of high-scoring offenses. That makes Andre Curbelo a valuable commodity. A member of the Rivals150, the native of Puerto Rico discussed his evolution into the leadership role for his Long Island Lutheran team, the schools in pursuit and a timeline for his college decision. “I think that I bring a lot of leadership," he said. "As a freshman, I couldn’t do much, but this year my coaches think this is my year and my team, so I just bring a lot of leadership and I try to encourage my players to play very hard, run the floor and crash the boards, just everything. I bring a lot of passion for the game, too, and I create for my teammates.” Florida, Georgetown, George Washington, St. John’s and Stony Brook are just a few that have kept Curbelo high on their board, he told Rivals.com. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/2020-prospect-andre-curbelo-developing-into-a-leader

Yes, pls... I've watched film of Ace this year and he is playing really well. Great playmaking and creating for others, but also gets buckets. His game is much better than it was last year. Now, I'm trying to get time to get up to see him play in Baltimore.

Yaboy, you beat me to it. Curbelo is a stud. Quadruple double against a good team at a good tournament; player's son; named best PG in U-17 World Championship this past summer; won bronze medal... kid's a winner!
