Corey Walker recently visited Virginia and Georgetown last month Georgetown: “It was nice up there. I met with Patrick Ewing and Louie Orr and they were just very nice and it was good to talk with them. I was able to scrimmage with the team. I like them a lot.”

2020 Henry Coleman of Trinity Episcopal and Team Loaded Virginia has one of the best motors in all of high school basketball and that has showed this week at NBPA Top 100 Camp. The rising junior is standing at 6’7 and one of the more aggressive players with the ball in his hands at NBPA Top 100 Camp. He brings tremendous strength and athleticism to the court and that has helped him on both sides of the ball.
Henry started the spring playing on the 16U Team Loaded Virginia team but then was moved up to 17U and he spoke to us about that transition.
“Playing the first couple of weeks with 16U was great. Me and Mark were really having an impact but Coach Blackwell and Coach Ty saw us playing really well together and we moved up to 17U and once we got up there with the guys and Earl, it was great and we had a lot of comradery and heading into July we have a lot of confidence and I think we have the best team in the country. We are very young, we have about six sophomores so you know next year is going to be even better but this year we have a really strong team too.”
In terms of recruiting he said, “I plan to visit Georgetown, NC State, Virginia and Virginia Tech all in August.”
Henry’s mother went to University of Virginia so he knows about the Cavaliers.
“Coach Bennett just really likes my leadership. My dad played football at Virginia Tech but he said when he was growing up you just have to be a leader. Everybody loves seeing leaders and that is what I really embodied and what I have been to come.”
Like mentioned in the quote above, his father played football at Virginia Tech and he explained his relationship with the Hokies.
“You know a lot of people are kind of pushing for me to go there, you know my dad played there and I could carry on his legacy but Buzz Williams really likes my motor, my high tempo and he just sees me fitting very well in their system.”
Georgetown is another school close by to Coleman and he has heard great things from Coach Ewing, “Coach Ewing really likes my game, he says he really likes my motor and always tells me that a lot of guys do not play with a high motor, they really don’t have it, they really lose it in their career, they start young having that high motor but he says you are carrying that and with that you can really make an impact in our program and he says I could really strive there.”
NC State is showing a lot of interest in the Richmond product as well, “Coach Keatts, I have talked to him a couple times and recently talked to him a couple weeks ago and he just really likes my motor also, he is a young coach and he said young guys can help turn this program around.”
When asked what he will look for in a college, he gave us this, “Academics is first, you know my mom being a lawyer, she really harps on academics so anywhere where I can get that nice 4.0 but also stepping on the floor during that freshman year and really having an impact, whether that is rebounding, scoring, assisting or just anything to really have an impact”

With all of the focus on 2019, to me, 2020 is the most important class for the program.

With all of the focus on 2019, to me, 2020 is the most important class for the program. The program needs to know what it has for 2019 before the staff can really get after 2020 kids.. Imho, the upcoming class is always the most important class..

The 2020 class will be the first to see what Pat is truely doing. The back court of Mackinjo will garner attention and talented kids want to play with other talented kids. We have seen the staff getting involved with many top talents in both classes but I feel like the 2020 class should be the one where they land their home runs.

Gut feeling... I don't think he's going to Bryant.
Or Norte Dame.

Dain Dainja: Grassroots Sizzle 2020 guard Jalen Suggs, a consensus five-star, top-10 prospect, was the main attraction. And he definitely did not disappoint. But, at least on this day, the best player on the court was Suggs' teammate: Dain Dainja, a four-star power forward out of Park Center in Minneapolis. The 6-foot-9, 240-pounder showcased college-level balance down low, sound defensive principles and a well-rounded offensive arsenal that stretches from 2 to 22 feet. He needs to trim some body fat and add arc to his shot. But, based on his performance this week in Milwaukee, Dainja is a top-50-level prospect. And Iowa and Iowa State are squarely in the mix. The Hawkeyes were his first high-major offer in April. The Cyclones weren't far behind, offering the skilled big in May. Now, Dainja holds offers from Xavier, Baylor, Marquette, Clemson, Georgetown, Illinois, Minnesota, Kansas State, Northwestern, Pitt, Texas A&M and West Virginia. He said he's also receiving interest from Texas, Kansas and Florida. Dainja's father, Dana Jackson, played for Minnesota in the 1990s. www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/high-school/recruiting/2018/07/20/ny-2-la-summer-jam-dain-dainja-going-explode-iowa-and-iowa-state-recruiting-jalen-suggs-tyler-beard/804979002/

By the time five-star big man Hunter Dickinson and upper echelon four-star shooting guard Earl Timberlake are done at Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha in the spring of 2020, I'm betting that opponents in the Washington D.C. area are going to be sick of dealing with them. I sure as heck wouldn't want to have to coach or play against them. A throwback in the mold of maybe a Brad Miller, Dickinson isn't going to wow anybody with his athleticism. But, he's big, he's strong, he has a mean streak and he can play on the low block or soften defenses with his jump shooting. It's that mean streak that I love most about his game and he's very productive as evidenced by the 21 points and seven rebounds he put up in under 18 minutes while often going head to head with five-star senior big man Moses Brown of Archbishop Molloy. Also blessed with a bit of a mean streak, Timberlake reminds me some of a young Wayne Selden. He's physically strong, can take on and finish through contact, creates pretty well off the dribble and has the tools to be a sneaky good jump shooter. I also feel like he's a guy with a chance to be elite defensively because he can check multiple positions. He finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists of his own. Timberlake listed offers from Penn State, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Rhode Island, Providence and Wake Forest. He's been on campus at Georgetown, Maryland, Penn State and Virginia Tech. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-bossi-s-sunday-hoophall-classic-takeawaysAfter spending some time at the under-18 USA Basketball trials last week, Dickinson was back in Virginia, showcasing his entire repertoire on Thursday. While he may lack for athleticism, the overall skillset out of the 7-footer is something else. A big that knows how to post and then repost, score over either should, and pass out of the double team has become a dying breed. Maybe Dickinson is here to infuse some talent into the throwback center position. The lefty is arguably the most skilled low post high school center prospect since Jahlil Okafor and he made his case that much stronger on Thursday. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/nbpa-top-100-word-association-from-thursday@coreyevans_10 Syracuse just offered five star @ttobasketball big man Hunter Dickinson
