According to the recruiting spreadsheet, there are two 2020 players who have offers from GU and haven't decided yet - Hill and Obang. We also see reports of transfers holding Georgetown offers as well - I don't know how many of those there still are.
That said, we only have 1 - or possibly 2 - spots open for next season.
So how does that work? Is it first come, first served now? Next player to accept gets the last scholarship? Or if one of them calls up to say "I'm accepting," does the coaching staff then decide whether to take the player, or to withdraw the offer and wait on one of those other potential recruits?

Some are the former, some the latter. We usually have no idea - though we often guess blindly. Now that we've filled out our roster pretty well (if Mac is indeed returning), I'd assume they can be fairly discriminating with the final scholarship. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if our current 12 isn't exactly the same 12 come September 1. Only Pat & Co (and maybe not even them) have insights into that.

Kids highlights are interesting and impressive. Looks like he is a really good athlete for his size and plays with a a lot of energy and a high motor. Looks to be a high school center, but projects to a PF in college. Not much of a perimeter game now, but athletic enough to hopefully develop that. Reminds me of Antwan Walker a little bit. I have always wished Walker had been able to stay with the program, because I thought he would have developed into a good piece in the program.

Pretty solid list of schools he's choosing from, same Canadian prep school as Juggy Blair and MAM, so there is obviously some sort of Georgetown connection to the place. Doesn't appear to be a position of need with 3 Centers in last year's freshman class and the Northwestern State transfer already on board, so not sure if the kid has a commitable offer from the Hoyas, but stranger things have happened.

He looks like a classic 4. Solid frame & athleticism but not C height, a little mechanical. Pair him w/ a tall, skilled guy at the five (not nec. the bruiser type) and you'd have a pretty imposing frontcourt. Tough to say what his talent level is, but it looks like you could at least throw him in there and let him bang for a few minutes each game. A less bouncy, bigger version of Chudier Bile...? I don't see too much info on him... but NPH had him listed as the #19 Canadian prospect in the 2020 class.

Is there a crystal ball prediction on this kid? SETON HALL The timing definitely would make sense here. They probably gave him a commitable offer as Plan B after Sanogo went to UConn

Elijah Wood Georgetown is also one of Wood’s favorites. “I love Patrick Ewing, how Coach [Robert] Kirby has come in and told me bad things about my game and what I can work on to get better,” Wood said of Georgetown. Wood has had more recruiting activity with Georgetown that any other school combining visits to campus and visits from coaches. He attended Georgetown’s game against Villanova earlier this season. Wood sits on the right in the photo below at the Georgetown game. Wood has taken two unofficial visits to Georgetown, one to St. Joesph’s, one to George Washington, one to West Virginia (for the West Virginia/Kentucky game) along with the one to St. John’s. Wood has been receiving interest, but no offers yet, from some of the nations top programs, namely West Virginia, UNC and Kentucky. Wood said that Kentucky will be coming to his AAU games later this year. It came as no surprise when Wood told me that the schools he had higher interest in at this point are the ones he has actually visited. Wood said that he plans to visit other schools on his list down the road. “Anyone who will come talk to me some more, I’d be happy to go see what they have. I really want to get out to visit more, just to experience the college feel,” Wood said. It’s clear that Wood has a lot of potential, and being just a sophomore, he will have time to develop into a better player before stepping on campus at whichever school he chooses. If the pass-first guard can fill out his 6’5” frame in the weight room, he could be even tougher to stop. His recruiting process still has a long way to go, but for now, St. John’s is certainly a contender to land this high ceiling point guard. www.rumbleinthegarden.com/2018/2/18/17008662/recruting-profile-2020-pg-elijah-wood-st-johns-bethesda-chevy-chase-georgetown-west-virginia

Most of Chicago’s great players want all those things, but they likely would keep it quiet. That isn’t Hinton. He says what he thinks and plays with passion and energy. Hinton is always moving on the court, always working. His motor and high standards have helped the Condors to an exceptional two-year run despite having significantly fewer highly recruited players than other city powers. Hinton, a Southeast Missouri State recruit, is a Sun-Times All-City first-team selection. He’s averaging 17 points and eight rebounds, and Curie is the favorite to win the Class 4A state title. First Team All City. Tyler Beard on Second Team Formerly signed to Southeast Missouri, Hinton would have been a massive steal at that level. I loved watching him play last summer with Team Rose. He’s still considering them after the hiring of Brad Korn (who helped recruit high school teammate Dajuan Gordon to Kansas State a year ago). He has also added offers from Colorado State, New Mexico and Tulsa while Illinois, Iowa State and Murray State have been active to varying degrees. I know that it’s not an easy time to recruit guys right now, but he’s a junkyard dog on the wing who could really help somebody out and at a fairly high level. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/three-point-play-not-much-left-in-2020-jordan-nesbitt-two-in-chicagoI get that the cupboard of talent in the class of 2020 is pretty empty at this point and I understand that many coaches have chosen to go the transfer route to fill out open scholarships. Still, I don’t understand how a player like Ramean Hinton of Chicago (Ill.) Curie isn’t picking up more interest. Originally signed to play at Southeast Missouri State, the 6-foot-5 Hinton was one of the biggest steals in the class of 2020. A true junkyard dog who ranks amongst the top-40 wing players in the senior class, he’s an intense competitor who makes things happen on drives to the rim and projects as a potentially big-time defender. When he first opened things up in March, Hinton heard from Illinois, Iowa State and Tulsa while SEMO tried to get him back in the fold. Of late, Colorado State, Missouri State and Wisconsin-Green Bay have been kicking the tires a bit but nobody has really been going all out. I feel programs from the upper mid-major to even high major level would be wise to do some more checking on Hinton because there’s still time to land a guy who could really be a quality late addition. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/three-point-play-rylan-griffen-ramean-hinton-kai-sotto

Colombia? That’s a concern.
On another subject, if I’m not wrong his father is a co founder of And1 and his H.S. Coach at Westtown Friends; does seem like a walk on. He wouldn’t have gotten a dime from Penn.

FOUR POINT GUARDS IN ONE SUMMER? I mean that's begging for rotation problems. I know nothing about the kid and really hope he's a legit player, but this move is puzzling.
