Agreed...neither guy is a wing. Is Patrick addicted to collecting centers/bigs? I’ve noticed that many coaches in multiple sports seem magnetically drawn to the type of player they were. We seem to be involved with every big in high school. Any word on how the coaches think about their portfolio of bigs? Need to replace those who are not on track? Can’t say no to projects? Intoxicated with length as Boeheim was for a while?

That is an odd decision that you don't normally see when players announce they are going to transfer. They may have gotten feedback from a few schools and decided that transferring anywhere together might not be as easy as they first thought. Has there been any confirmation that Coach Ewing did meet with the brothers? It was reported that he was planning to meet them before the New Year, but have not seen anything recently.

Probably felt they had to make a rushed decision to be able to play after the 1st semester next year. I assume they want to strategize, check the landscape and make a thought out decision.

Maryland winter term is 1/2 to 1/22. Spring semester stars on 1/27

Keep in mind if they wait to transfer until the spring, they will retain 3 full years they can play. If they transfer now, they'd be eligible after fall semester 2020, and then only two more seasons. I have no idea if that's why they are waiting, of course.
If they were going to wait until the spring anyway, it makes you wonder why they didn't just stick it out the rest of the season. My guess is they are waiting for a better opportunity than they're being presented with now.

My guess is they are waiting for a better opportunity than they're being presented with now. My guess as well. Pretty sure that they thought they'd be able to quickly land as a 2-pack at another high major, probably Georgetown. And my guess is that whichever high majors they got in touch with, including us, showed some interest but was not immediately ready to sign up for both. The obvious answer here is that they need to split up. They're positionally redundant with one another, and the better one (Makhi) is not good enough to warrant spending 2 scholarships on. They either need to split up or be prepared to go down a level, and my guess is that they were caught a bit by surprise when high majors were not immediately lining up to offer both. So they're going to wait until spring and see if their suitors are any better or else make the "split up or go mid major" decision at that time.

If you’re a believer, just pray that destination isn’t here.
If so, God help us all.

I hate the new environment of kids transferring if they don't get their way. Definitely representative of where we are in the world with parenting, politics & social media.

I had thought they were close to committing to Providence not too long ago. My guess is Cooley probably only wanted one of the brothers so they kept looking for a place that would take them as a package deal. I would think that they will do well at URI in that conference, or at least the one more highly rated brother will do really well.

RI only eating our lunch if you assume we wanted the Mitchell's. Not an assumption I'd make.
