It's frustrating how little interest GU gives to covering these events. All I heard was that QB Tim Barnes will wear the #35 jersey next year.

I would take aim at the athletic department for this as they aren't even pretending to care about this program. Maybe they see the PL going scholarship as a lost cause and no home for GU but realistically it wouldn't be that hard for them to put some minimal effort into this. I'm certain the coaching staff is putting plenty into it but aren't a PR crew so would need someone from AD and SI to step in and take that role. It's a shame because you view many I-AA and DIII programs and they do put a lot behind the football website and reporting of information. I think that is somehow beneath this athletic department with it's singular focus which I suppose is understandable when so much effort is paying off in keeping basketball at such an elite level.

During the Spring Game, the defense looked solid. Offense scored only one touchdown when Tim Barnes found freshman WR Brandon Williams in the back of the end zone.

I was at the Spring Game. I thought defense looked better than the O. Hunter Kiselick at DE looks very quick, strong, and active. GU's defensive ends are a definite strength when you throw Phil Novacki into the mix. Dan Yankovich at OLB played well, not big but quick and aggressive. I thought Leo Loughery's absence at MLB was very noticeable. Secondary had 1 pick and played fast. The Hoyas made a couple uncontested field goals. I like Darmstadter's range and accuracy as a place kicker. On offense, Tim Barnes is a better runner than Kyle Nolan, making some nice scrambles and could cause problems with the zone read. His arm is strong, although his reads need to improve. RB Issac Ellsworth is very explosive and fast and could provide some excitement. I also like FR RB Carl Thomas. He shows a combination of speed and strength. Hill and Buckman are about as good as you can get as receivers and then throw in Brandon Williams and it's a solid group. Buckman can block very well at TE also. The OL was a bit banged up, but looks big in size. Most of them are SOPH or FR, so the sooner they can work well together, the better the O. I believe GU will have to establish more of a running game this year, opinion. Can't wait until the Davidson game. Go Hoyas!
