This is good news - reclassifies him as '07, in which we have plenty of open spaces. If Wallace stays OFF scholarship - and Owens as well - we still have one to give for the class of '06. My guess is between Wallace and Owens one of them take it up.

How does this reclassify him to '07? This will be his last year of school before the pros or college, so he's '06, right?

Why would he be reclassified? I need this 101 class...

It doesn't - I misread the article... my bad.
My brain automatically calculated this year of school plus a prep year at Hargrave like so many before him.

Yeah, he's going to Hargrave for his senior year. No reclassifying involved, I think.
Macklin has been very clear that his first priority is the NBA. But there's the age limit factor, along with the fact that he's really skinny and probably not ready. I'd really like to see UNC sign some big name front court players early, because I like our chances as much as anyone except the Tarheels.

Yeah, it's really not too bad of a dilemma.
Look at 'nova for instance.
While they play a different offense completely, they've got 4 wing players who can do it all plus Sumpter (a refined Jeff Green) and Fraser in the middle (our Hibbs). How in the heck are teams going to guard 'nova next year when Foye, Nardi, Lowery, and Ray can beat almost everyone off the dribble and you've still got the big's to worry about?
I really wouldn't feel bad if I haaaaad to have Sapp, Rivers, and Doc Oc or whoever outside while Jeff Green and Pat Ewing roam the floor.
...and that's not including Tyler Crawford, Egerson, and Thorton and Wallace spotting up for 3's!
