Could you be more insufferable? Im not sure what about this tournament makes people think teams are so awesome. Gonzaga stunk all year. They didn't beat anyone. All the B12 and P12 teams are laying an egg, too, and every one loved them. What the tourney makes you realize is that it's a crap shoot about matchups, unless you have 8 McD all Americans. Even Kentucky got hosed because they could have played a much easier 2nd round game, but it just didn't happen. Im sure we'll hear from Calipari on that. Calipari already complained long and loud about being under seeded on the NCAA selection show, minutes after the brackets were revealed The bottom line is that the NCAA tournament is a TV show/business. Entertaining TV and big crowds at games are the most important elements of the tournament (by far) to the NCAA. There really is no point in getting upset about seeding, who gets in/gets left out of the tournament, etc. The tournament is all about maximizing profit, like any other business. Any pretense of fair competition exists only to sell this myth to the public in order to get more of their buy in (both emotionally and financially). The tournament is a great show, but it is best enjoyed when fans remember that it is just a TV show, trying to compete with zombies, dragons, etc.

If Kentucky could not beat a #5 seed maybe Calislimy should not have been whining in the first place. Just play better.

As much as I dislike Calipari, he has a point. The seeding in this tournament is the worst I can remember. How the winner of the Big 10 regular season gets a five seed is beyond comprehension. Duke as a 4? Cuse not in a play-in? SFA getting a worse seed than Iona and UNCW? Not to mention the inclusion of tons of PAC 12 teams with inflated RPIs. The inclusion of Tulsa (when the Ameican was clearly a terrible conference). I'm almost certain that the committee watched exactly zero basketball games other than the ones their own schools played in.

Oo That's a mature squad... In 2012 the last time they were in the tourney they had a really mature roster with a bunch of transfers Kenny Kadji etc who was 24 at the time..

"Nothing wrong with failure in sports if you give your best effort" That's simply not the Hoya way... "Win or die" or "lose and your a loser" sounds much better...

It is amazing how well Villanova is playing. Their offense and defense is excellent. At this moment , Georgetown is not even close at the level Villanova is playing.

Iowa looks like a pick-up team. There is not a single team that has regressed as much as they have this year.

I was thinking the same thing unfortunately. Watching the motor on defense that Villanova or Wichita State has for example, it's pretty depressing. The Hoyas have so far to go with not only strategy but also mindset.

Good for Villanova. Instead of feeling all the pressure of losing this game last year, they went after Iowa like they stole something. Playing with a chip on your shoulder can be fun. Hope they and Xavier can keep it up.

Slightly OT, but did CBS pull Barkley from the pre-game/halftime broadcast team because of his absolute lack of knowledge about college basketball? Did CBS explain his absence?

As bad as our team played this year at least they never mailed it in like Iowa appears to be doing today. They don't even look like they are trying anymore.

Villanova is given a clinic how to play basketball. How easy is the game when you have not one but two PG running your offense. It is a pleasure to watch how well they are playing.

If you are a PG and you are watching this game, it is obvious why you will prefer to play at Villanova and not at Georgetown.

Did we go after kris Jenkins? I feel like people bashed him on here coming out of high school. He's everything I hoped Reggie Cameron was going to be x100. He's awesome.
As Jeff goodman just tweeted, nova has great chemistry and TWO point guards. We had no chemistry no motor and no point guards.
Very happy for nova and hope they do well for our conference. Same goes for Xavier. But overall this has been a bad tournament for Georgetown fans with cuse and md poised to walk into the sweet 16 and nova showing how much better they are than Georgetown as a program at this moment.
I'm concerned because we have no Top 100 recruits for '16 or '17 currently. JtIII needs to turn things around asap but can't say I have a lot of confidence in his abilities to do so, especially after that God awful Lowes commercial.

They gave Kenny Smith half the day off yesterday as well. Think they are trying to rest some voices. Four 12 hour days on TV in a row is pretty rough. Though Clark Kellog gets the Iron Man award. Doesn't lose his voice either.
