Doesn't have to be a game thing -- can be something off-court that was fun or absurd.
I have many, but I particularly remember the Esh-coached Hoyas beating a pretty heavily favored Syracuse team in the quarters. Boeheim went full doofus and refused to give them any credit in the post-game presser. Ha!

Going underneath the temporary under the basket seats instead of the men's room between regulation and OT of the 84 Final so as not to miss a second.

Going underneath the temporary under the basket seats instead of the men's room between regulation and OT of the 84 Final so as not to miss a second. At the end of that same 84 syracuse game - as the hoya students prepared to storm the Garden court: the only security was about 4 or 5 NYC cops lined up along the baseline. As the game ended with a Hoya victory - the first Hoya fan to start sprinting to the court was punched right in the nose by one of the cops. A lot of blood spurted from his nose, which was more than enough to quickly discourage the rest of the fans from trying to overwhelm the cops and storm the court.

Mid-eighties or so and I get into a verbal confrontation with a Syracuse fan who had apparently consumed even more beer than I had. The conversation escalates - he took exception to my use of multi-syllabic words - and he lunges toward me in a threatening manner. Before I can respond my friend, much smaller in stature than I but even then a dedicated weight lifter - comes over a couple rows of seats and locks up my assailant.
My friend just retired and now spends all his time golfing, watching movies and (thankfully still) lifting. We will be sitting together for something like the thirty fifth time at the BET. Hopefully he still has my back.

So...many...memories.
1997: don't really remember details. Didn't know what to expect. Shocked at how many people didn't understand NYC and wanted to go eat in Times Square. 1998: Miami upset and then stupid Billet. we decide to party with Villanova after the game at the Hotel Penn. Fight breaks out in the hallway between some of us. Others chose *ahem* diplomacy. 1999: another loss to Rutgers? Am I remembering this right? Villanova invites some naive GU freshmen to party with them. Nova fans break into rooms while empty and steal a bunch of stuff. We retaliate. Agreement is brokered and goods are returned. Evening ends partying on roof of hotel with Syracuse kids (who were actually pretty cool). 2000: Villanova loses early so we assume no more shenanigans. However they actually stay an extra day and greet GU with giant obnoxious banners after, yet again, naive freshmen fail to heed warning to avoid them. Once Nova is gone, hijinks ensue after Syracuse win, including testing the laws of gravity and visiting the very popular bead show exhibit on the hotel's upper floors. Tough loss to uconn. 2001: mind numbing loss to seton hall. 2002: two years out, buy tickets to the entire tourney. Promptly lose them after our unexpected loss to Miami. And tear my leather jacket. Boo all around. 2003: missed the tourney due to first year of law school and a pre planned trip to Beantown with a girl. 2004: chose a trip to London and Paris as a spring break over NYC. Equally as cold, FYI. 2005: free tickets from my brothers future father in law (a Villanova guy who got knocked out early and gave us the remaining tickets) morphed into bachelor party for a good friend. Rough loss to uconn I think. Discovered the fantastic giant beer and pretzel deal at the garden. Discovered there is a limit to how many car bombs one should consume. 2006: watched this one at home with friends, but the heartbreaking Syracuse loss did result in some wonderful hijinks at four courts in Arlington... 2007: another bachelor party (this time for my brother and his ND friends). Got to see GU win in the semis for the first time. Missed the final because of pre-planned hijinks (which did not disappoint). 2008: shot up to NYC for the tourney last minute with my fiancée...disappointing loss though.
Since marriage, have not returned, sigh.

Never been to New York City, so these memories are as a fan watching on TV. Too many to list all of the highs and lows so I listed three each.
The Best
1. 1985- Beating St. John's twice within two weeks after they thought they were the best team in college basketball.
2. 1989- A Tour De Force performance by the Hoyas. Destroying BC & Pitt, and then beating Syracuse in the Finals a week after losing in the regular season finale at the Carrier Dome.
3. 2007- The comeback against Notre Dame in the semifinals and then pounding Pitt in the finals.
The Worst
1. 1996- complete meltdown/choke. Up double digits with four minutes to go and do everything possible to lose. 20 years later, it is still hard to believe how many things had to go wrong for us to lose that game.
2. 2006- another second half collapse to even allow Syracuse a chance to win the game
3. 2010- After getting "revenge" against South Florida, Syracuse and Marquette, we decide not to play defense at the end of the game and let West Virginia hit the game winner. I'll always remember Jay Bilas doing the commentary in complete amazement at how we tried to defend that last second out of bounds play.

I'll always remember Jay Bilas doing the commentary in complete amazement at how we tried to defend that last second out of bounds play. After taking the BET off after 1982 (in Hartford, where I got into an argument with some cretins from Villanova while confiscating their "Ewing Kant Read Dis" sign), I re-entered the BET in 2007. Almost as good as the 2 games mentioned above was talking to a smiling Jeff Green's Dad clutching the Big East MVP trophy and Rich Chvotkin while waiting for my Amtrak train at Penn Station the next morning. I can't remember enough about the games my senior year (1981, in Syracuse) to cogently comment on them, except to say that the hotel (my classmate Tarky's house) was phenomenal. My Hoya daughter was on her way to that 2010 final after landing at Reagan on a flight back from spring break, cabbing it to get on the train that would have put her at Penn Station 20 minutes before the tip... Only to get stuck in Philly due to a horrific rain storm. I knew only bad things could happen when I got that call.

1980 in Providence. The first was the best. Sleepy was great in beating Cuse. Got into a "discussion" after the championship game with a genius from SUcks. My friend had to pull me away. Last time that has needed to be done for me.
