SPECIAL TO THE FARGO HERALD
by Barcor Daviss
Fargo, ND
Attorneys for the internet recording artist known as "nodak89" have filed a grievance with the FCC regarding an illegally obtained bootleg of his new song, "Let's Build Paradise (Big Yellow Schoolbus)".
The song was recently unveiled as a surprise addition to his playlist last night. His concert at the FargoDome suddenly changed from the typical frenzied Hoya Basketball lovefest when the lights went down leaving only a blazing spot on the singer and his black guitar.
As he started his acoustic version of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi" it became clear that this was a clarion call to action to pursue renovation of Georgetown Univeristy's McDonough Gym. Apparently one of the more zealous, or obsessive, Georgetown basketball fans recorded this new song and quickly wirelessly uploaded it to the web even before the end of the 3 hour show.
At the post-concert press conference, "nodak" was asked about the uploaded bootleg. He answered, "Well. It's obvious that I'm opposed to ripping off other artists' work. I mean, where would I be if people just found chords on the internet and started recording parodies of copyrighted songs?" He continued, "I suppose that if some good came out of the bootleg, I might call off my pack of lawyers. After all, any grassroots movement really needs a protest song."
Herald reporters have obtained the official lyric sheet from a disgruntled roadie who is believed to have "graduated" from Syracuse.

"Let's Build Paradise (Big Yellow School Bus)”<br>
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot
On campus convocation and Hoya hoop spot
Don't it always seem you know
That we’ve got to get back to our real home
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot
They took all the games and put 'em in a pro arena
And they bus the students for half an hour to see them
Don't it always seem you know
That we’ve got to get back to our real home
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot
Hey Healy, Healy forget about the MCI
I don't care about neighbors excuses
Now the truth, it’s time to try, try
Don't it always seem you know
That we’ve got to get back to our real home
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot Why not?
Listen late last season we all saw the same
McDonough's electric N I T home game
Don't it always seem you know
That we’ve got to get back to our real home
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot
Don't it always seem you know
That we’ve got to get back to our real home
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot. Why not?
Let's build paradise upon the McDonough lot
Build paradise upon the McDonough lot
Whatcha gonna give whatcha gonna give whatcha gonna, whatcha gonna give today
Whatcha gonna give whatcha gonna give whatcha gonna, whatcha gonna pledge today
Whatcha gonna give whatcha gonna give whatcha gonna, whatcha gonna sign today
Don't be giving it all away, you gotta take the chance today
Don't be giving it all away, you gotta take the chance today
