The flip side of the deflated basketball is that many Hoyas wouldn't have made it to the Hilltop, or made it out of where they came from, without that ball to begin with. playerstribu.ne/sugar

Wow. I wasn't expecting that. What a great read. Easy to push on the board but that was a great read. Really well written. Just wow.

Having never lived outside of the 'bubble,' I found it incredibly insightful.

Wow. That's some story and some life Sugar has lived. Hugely impressive both what she's done with her life and also her outlook and perspective on where she's been and where she's gone. If GU ever gets a chance to get her back in some capacity to counsel kids, it should jump at it. Continued success to a person that has earned every little thing she's ever gotten. Thank you for sharing the link, Russky.

I read the article and thought that I was probably the only poster on this board who knew nothing about Sugar's back-story, and I hesitated to post showing my ignorance. My reaction was literally the same as Just Cos and jwp91.
An amazing journey. Sugar deserves everything she has earned and more, and she would be a marvelous ambassador in general as to the value of a college education for at-risk youths, let alone a Georgetown education.
Thanks for the post, Russky. Great find.

All the best. But disappointed that we could not keep a Hoya great. Is it fair to see this as a lateral move?

Not sure how things went down, but it looks like she and Georgetown parted ways after the season’s end. It was a surprise to me, as she seemed to have gained a huge amount of respect from the players on this year’s team.
