Interesting. Maybe a hedge against Isaac leaving? Still, we'd have Agau, Derrickson, White and Trey.

Finally! I've been waiting for the staff to offer this kid. I kept reading or seeing our name mentioned with this kid but had no confirmation of an official offer going his way. This kid is still underrated in my book and would be a really good get going forward whether Copeland is gone or not. I went hard for DeAndre Hunter in terms of how I thought/think he's a great fit for us. I think Keita is that kind of fit for us as well and hope the staff goes hard after this kid. Anyone know why we took so long to offer? Was it an academic/test score thing, injury or did we just slow play him like we slow played Hunter?

Wow. This is the first time in awhile where I see a tape and it actually does remind me of Jeff Green, at least in the scoring (not the passing). I know we like to say that a lot but he really does to me. Now, he just needs a ridiculously exaggerated pump fake.

Whats the possibility of him growing up to about 6'10 or more, I'm still dreaming of a 7 footer in the paint?

I was wondering how this kid had such skills then I read that he went from 6'0 before his freshman year to 6'8 at the end of that year. That's why his shot is so fluid.

Claiming that you helped Michael Beasley develop -- who has been a complete bust -- should not be a positive. That kid had so much talent and never did jack with it. Not sure that was Martin's fault but I doubt he helped or did much.

South Carolina, Providence and Temple? Wow I really really hope we get heavily involved and get Sedee Keita on campus and in the Hoyas Blue & Gray jersey. From what I've seen on game and highlight films, the kids skill set is a great fit for what we do on both sides of the ball. Can play both the PF/C. Can score on all 3 levels and runs the floor very well in transition. Moves his feet well on defense for a Big and can defend at the rim. I think the kid is definitely underrated and is starting to peak. He is very skilled and still has a ton of upside. The staff has does well in identifying and signing prospects who are underrated/under recruited but are highly skilled and are improving quickly. Copeland, Peak, White, Govan, Whittington to name a few fit that description. From reports Kaleb Johnson is in this same lane. I think Mosely also fit this description.
IMO, this kid has all the same tools and ability that Sacha K. Jones and is better skilled the DeLaurier is. The difference in their rankings to me seems to be their usage this pass spring and summer. SKJ and DeLaurier were showcased as each of their teams best prospects so they got all the touches they wanted. Keita played for We R 1 out of Delaware that was flat out LOADED WITH TALENT! Trevon Duvall (best player in 2017), Quade Green, Kodye Pugh are just a few of the players on WE R 1 that I can come up with off the top my head but trust me that squad was loaded with talent. Probably every kid on that team will have an opportunity to play HM college basketball. So Keita didn't get the amount of touches/ opportunity to show out!
It took the staff a while to offer Keita, I hope it's not to late because the previously mentioned competition for this kid shouldn't be that difficult to beat out.

Makes me wonder why the staff offered Nyser Brooks 1st..

Makes me wonder why the staff offered Nyser Brooks 1st.. That's a great question Etomic! Only thing I can think of is familiarity to Brooks and not really knowing of or having seen Keita yet. Are we even 100% sure the staff really offered Brooks? I know it was reported that we did but you hear about kids being offered and then later you find out they never were offered. Any kid or person can say the staff offered them or so and so was offered. The staff can't publicly deny those comments because they aren't allowed to directly comment on unsigned prospects. I thought the offering of Brooks was weird because he really didn't fit JT3 system at all. He is not offensively skilled, not a great athlete and more of a defensive player/rebounder. To offer Brooks in the spring when you can usually pick up a kid like that at the end of their senior year was weird to me.

I like your comp to Sacha; I do see a lot of similarities but the most important one for us is that Kentucky hasn't offered! I think we should be all over this kid quickly; he has the potential to blow up once his season starts. Interesting that we're competing again with South Carolina; I wouldn't have ever thought we'd be competing with so many of our top targets with USC...
