I saw Mourning at Kenner and he did look much more aggressive, much bigger and far more confident. All the other reports I've read agree that he seems to have made big strides from last season. That said I have to believe that barring unforeseen circumstances, Govan is a lock to start at center. Govan is a top 50 recruit, is a proven winner, has a much more powerful frame and has also impressed in the summer. Unless Trey starts killing him in practice every day I can't see Govan getting passed over as a starter.
Still, if Hayes is able to play near the level he showed in the NCAAs last year and if Mourning can spend time at center as well it would be a hell of an interesting luxury. When is the last time we've had three players on the same team who can effectively contribute at center?

With his recent rate of progression, he may play himself into the league. Who knows...Keep working Trey!

I'm really curious to see Trey. He looked young last year, in both experience and just in size/strength. But by all accounts he's inherited his father's work ethic (which can be unusual for rich kids).

Much more this year to look forward to, than the past several years. I'M AS EXCITED ABOUT THIS YEAR'S TEAM AS I WAS WHEN GREG MONROE WAS A FRESHMAN. Top 20 is very attainable and Top 10 is possible. Maybe even better. Bad luck the past few years and as most of us know that can change on a dime. Nothing very technical here - just a good feeling going in.
