Gen. Mark Hertling: "You combine not only Stanley McChrystal but Bill McCraven, Secretary Mattis, John Kelly and you say well a lot of people are saying not only is there a leadership void, but there's also a lack of understanding of the intellectual requirements of the job"

It would be newsworthy if the NY Times' "Anonymous" dropped a note to the paper, " I'm still here." It would send DJT back into low earth orbit, of course.

Didn't realize, or doesn't care? This President couldn't give a rat's patootie about the poor. Particularly poor minorities. And that also goes for the rural poor, even if they choose to vote for him.

Another rat deserting a the sinking Trump ship? Sad that both Mulvaney and Nielsen are Georgetown alums. They are both disgraceful individuals who choose to lie on behalf of a malignant narcissist. I also wish that a journalist would ask these liars a simple question: Why do you continue to lie on behalf of this corrupt regime?

And yet people whine about "socialist" programs that help the poor who don't grow stuff.

We don't yet know how the shutdown is going to be resolved, but we do know that Trump has bumbled his way through this conflict with such incompetence that even his most ardent defenders would have a hard time claiming he has any idea what he's doing. Even Trump’s own allies acknowledge that he can’t be trusted. “Democrats keep saying, ‘We don’t trust it until Trump will sign it,' '' said Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) yesterday. “That’s not an unreasonable request.” “It’s always difficult,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), “when the person you’re negotiating with is someone who changes their mind.” www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/01/10/donald-trump-is-worlds-worst-negotiator/?utm_term=.89196745eacf

By BURGESS EVERETT and JOHN BRESNAHAN 12/11/2018 06:57 PM EST President Donald Trump just made it nearly impossible for Republicans to blame Democrats for an increasingly likely partial government shutdown. But they’re going to try anyway. House Republicans are considering passing a stopgap spending bill that provides $5 billion for Trump’s border wall, essentially daring Senate Democrats to accept it or face the fallout of any funding lapse next week, according to multiple GOP sources. But Democrats — and some Republicans — aren't taking the gambit seriously after Trump boasted that he’d be “proud” to shut down the government over his wall demands during an extraordinary televised Oval Office clash with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) was taken aback when asked if the president’s negotiating style had aided Republicans: “Everybody wants to blame it on the other party, always. That’s what you typically do. That’s out the window now.” Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) conceded that neither side had made any effort to compromise and that Democrats were skillfully sidestepping GOP efforts to pin the blame on them. “I think Sen. Schumer was very shrewd in his efforts to make certain that whatever blame is to be had for a shutdown doesn’t rest with the Democrats,” added Moran. “It’s disappointing that the outcome is what it is at the moment.” Coming off a remarkable exchange between Trump, Schumer and Pelosi, congressional Republicans were reeling as they tried to adjust to the president’s stunning willingness to own an impending partial shutdown over his wall demands. For weeks, the GOP had been attacking Democrats for their unwillingness to help Trump shore up the border. And with just a few words directed at Schumer, Trump laid all those plans to waste: “I am proud to shut down the government for border security.” Later in the day, Trump dug in even further, declaring: “I don’t mind owning that issue. … We're closing it down for border security and I think I win that every single time.” www.politico.com/story/2018/12/11/trump-government-shutdown-republicans-1058524"The buck stops with everybody." -- DJT January 10, 2019

Poor Chris Christie. Trump clearly didn't follow through on hooking him up with an appointment. 2 1/2 years in and President Trump still hasn't figured out that loyalty is a two-way street. Just because he's the President, he thinks he can't be touched. The man is truly daft.

If HRC gets elected it will be scandal after scandal. Drama. Ha... So I posted that a while ago, that being said I believe I’m accurate. No matter who won it would be years of investigations and BS. My question to you is why u feel the need to laugh at me? As an independent I’ve lost a lot of respect for the left, politicians, media etc. Have we all lost common sense? The ability to work together? Have we resorted to laughing at one another? In all fairness after 2 years haven’t Americans of good will say enough already! If the special council had collusion don’t you think it would have leaked by now. This is the history’s longest smear job. We need to Wrap this up, reflect a bit, and Negioate on border security and re open this govt. As an independent and not a liberal I really don’t feel comfortable with a mob against me. If you want to laugh at me, tell me my views are incorrect or invalid I guess since we’re on social media it’s now 100% your right. Don’t forget I’m your Georgetown brother.
