I tried to find a credible conservative source/journalist within that list but failed. Maybe Ed can provide some much needed commentary from a respected right-leaning journalist explaining how repeatedly calling out each of those people (wrongly, in many cases) by Trump (except for Sabato) didn't contribute to them being targeted. I understand that the person that did this (allegedly) is a crazy person. But to act as if this wasn't an easily foreseeable possibility directly as a result of the attacks of a sitting president is, IMO, to be willingly obtuse.

Class bunch of Trumpistas in the East Room today at the White House, chanting "CNN sucks!" even as the FBI arrests the suspect in the attempted bombings. Tell you all you need to know about Trump supporters. (Remember bringing "dignity" back to the White House? But Obama wore a brown suit! He put his feet on the desk!). Frigging hypocrites. That is awful behavior but let’s be honest here , CNN does kind of suck. Not nearly as much as Fox does.

The only shocking part is that Trump supporters believe the socialism BS and voting BS and the open borders BS. I don't know how you convince so many that believe so whole-heartedly that are also, seemingly, averse to objective proof and honest reporting.

Max Boot, former Republican but still a conservative: To be clear, the investigation into Saturday’s attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh is only just beginning, and there is more to learn about Sayoc’s apparent infatuation with Trump. But it also should be clear to all that holding the president of the United States to account for his hateful rhetoric is not the same thing as subscribing to lunatic “false flag” conspiracy theories that ricochet around the right-wing world. In their eagerness to protect their leader, Republicans are guilty of the very sin they have spent years decrying — false moral equivalence. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/what-is-happening-to-our-country/2018/10/27/47b462f6-da13-11e8-aeb7-ddcad4a0a54e_story.html

Smdh... What are the other “parts” Mr. President? I'm stuck on the fact he calls his constituents and fellow Americans the "true enemy" and the fact he thinks he is the victim here. But in a way, I guess he's right.

Smdh... What are the other “parts” Mr. President? "Accurately and fairly?" Like reporting how the caravan (1,000 miles away and dissipating fast, but nevertheless an existential threat to this country) is being funded by Soros, as well as other "globalists," "cosmopolitans," etc...? Sorry, but the source of the "open & obvious hostility" is the right wing echo chamber that you're so fond of retweeting.

Not nearly as much as Fox does. No argument. What passes for news coverage in the United States is an embarrassment. Can I ask where you get your news from? Of course you don't have to answer but you seem to have a problem with every mainstream news organization. You claim most mainstream outlets are not worthy, yet more than any other poster you routinely share information that's not tethered in fact.

Gallup poll, Trump drops 4 points last week beginning with pipe bombs to synagogue shooting erasing the gains he made since Kavanaugh hearings. Good. (I wonder what Stephen Miller thinks about the last week. All in favor?)

Few immigration and constitutional scholars believe it is within the president's power to change birthright citizenship.
But some conservatives argue that the 14th Amendment has been misapplied for decades.

Donald Trump won the election. He can choose whoever he wants to populate the West Wing. If his administration enacts anti-Semitic, sexist or racist policies, I and other voters will vote accordingly in four years. Simple as that. Guy, it's cool. According to kchoya (remember him?), having a bunch of anti-Semites, sexists, and racists in the White House is only a problem if they actually enact anti-Semitic, sexist, or racist policies. No such policies have been enacted yet, so I think we're all good. In the past couple of weeks, we've had a racially-motivated killing in Kentucky, an anti-Semitic-motivated mass shooting in Pittsburgh, and a President stating a desire to revoke birthright citizenship by executive order. I'm wondering where everyone stands on voting "accordingly".

What idiot is acting as the White House counsel who determined that an EO can eliminate birthright citizenship? Another cynical political stunt to entice the ignorant xenophobic Trump supporters. How stupid are they?

I hope all these lovers of the constitution are cool with the next president changing the 2nd amendment via EO.

I hope all these lovers of the constitution are cool with the next president changing the 2nd amendment via EO. Don’t you mean the 14th Amendment? For the record, the idea is ridiculous.

No, I mean the 2nd. If we're cool "clarifying" the 14th this time, I hope the next president can do the same with the 2nd and limit guns.

I actually think government by EO is an awful approach whether by W Bush, Obama or Trump. It is the essence of a consensus killer when the President chooses to act alone.
