This will be the 12th time the World men's U-19 championship will be held. The US has won 5 golds and 3 silvers. The first time this championship series was held was in 1979. Guess who starred on that team? James Worthy and Eric "Sleepy" Floyd!

I asked earlier but do we know the definitive dates for the Italy trip?

Great news for LJ! I hope the staff has realistic expectations that, at this point, LJ must believe he'll be able to leave to the NBA by his junior year if not earlier. Especially since he'll soon be a father.

I asked earlier but do we know the definitive dates for the Italy trip? IIRC, the tentative schedule had the first game in Rome on August 17th, a game in Florence on August 20th, and two games in Milan with the last game on August 23rd. I'm still awaiting info from Steve Alleva about how to purchase game tickets only.

Congrats to LJ. This experience will be great for his development: he'll get a chance to go up against great players in practice, and be exposed to talented foreign teams with different styles of play. My expectation is he's the most improved player on the roster by November.

Crazy that LJ had not been out of the US until his trip with the team to the Bahamas last year (*and now he'll be traveling to Europe twice in a summer). Just shows the opportunities Georgetown can give *the players.

I think he just meant it is crazy that a kid who had never left the US will, in the space of 9 months, go to the Bahamas, the U-19 trip, and the Italy trip.

"Crazy" as in unbelievable, amazing, and cool. Right? Yes, and as Frazier pointed out I meant the opportunity to travel so much in a short time, seeing parts of the world, and broadening his horizons.

I was wondering if they'd let him keep 0 for international play.
