Watched today's final after not seeing any of the previous games. Like others have said, it was rough. The US kept playing one-on-one and missing shots. On the rare occasions they got a shot off a pass, they shot very well on it. LJ's two shots both were good looks while open. His made shot was a big one, breaking a 57-57 tie in the fourth, though the lead didn't last.
Today was my first look at Brunson in a setting where he had comparable talent around him. I saw him play in the IL HS playoffs, where him being the heroball gunner was his team's optimal strategy. He's obviously talented, but the dominant US playing style also reflected the type of player he is right now.

Loved hearing and seeing that LJ was a stopper on defense. Without Jabril we'll need someone to step it up on the perimeter.

LJ played a great game. Did all the little things. Great defense and he was one of the main distributors on offense. Was really able to get the passes for easy buckets on the break as well as consistently getting passes into the big men on the block for points. Most of Team USA was playing one on one drive to the basket but LJ created alot of opportunities for his teammates. Box score really doesn't do him justice. Miller kept putting him back in when Croatia would make their runs (except for the overtime).

LJ looking trim. Is he wearing shinguards in that pic? Tas, it looks like he is wearing the padded knee supports. After the game we pull them down around the ankles.

Was asked earlier, and no disrespect because I think it was a really legit question, but I think this answers it. It was worth it. Great experience for the young man, and I think it will light a fire in him to work even harder once he returns. Congrats to all the members of the U19 team. It wasn't pretty but you got it done. My eyes also thank you as they will not have to watch that crap-fest any longer. No disrespect to crap-fests..

He looks thinner, which is good. Agreed...congrats to LJ. Seems like a great experience for the young man. Must be pretty cool to win a gold medal while wearing USA on your chest.

Straight from the horse's mouth. My friend in Crete saw all of Greece's games and three of the US's games. He said: I payed special attention to LJ Peak, he played well, but was certainly not the star of the team.
