Jones said he also has official visit plans for Georgetown and Oklahoma State but hasn't set dates for those schools. "The biggest thing with Indiana is coach (Tom) Crean's history with guards of making them better," Jones said. "He's made average guards into pros and great guards even better. That is a major reason and also the possible chance to play early." Jones said he'll likely cut his list to "six or seven" after July, but said Indiana, Georgetown and Oklahoma State will definitely be among them. The Richmond, Va., native has several other offers, including Cincinnati, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and more. Florida, Penn State and Pitt are also involved, he said. Jones took an unofficial visit to Indiana in June. He is friends with Robert Johnson, who averaged nearly 9 points a game as a freshman at Indiana. "I hope to make a decision sometime in the fall," Jones said. "That's my goal." www.indystar.com/story/recruiting-central/2015/07/23/top-60-guard-curtis-jones-has-official-visit-planned-for-indiana/30580985/

I love this kids game! My top pick for Combo Guard in 16 class. I hope he makes it to campus and doesn't commit while at Indiana the week before. Everything you read screams huge Indiana lean.

I will never underestimate Mich ability to recruit guards again smh He didn't even have an offer, picked them on the spot when they did looks like.. future150.com/hs/basketball-news/watson-ends-his-recruitmentAthens, OH (Future150) -- "I did it at 2 PM," said Ibi Watson. He is referring to his verbal commitment to the University of Michigan. "They called me last night and told me (about the offer)," said Watson. "I didn't announce it or anything."

Side note but look at Indiana's page on Verbal commits BTW TR means transfer and LT means Left team... I believe by my count they have had 8 transfers in the last 3 years, 2 kids kicked of the team and a slew of "LT" (Mostly Walk-ons).. Wow... www.verbalcommits.com/schools/indianaThey have 3 schollies left with the above signing and remember Blackmon and Robert Johnson are both Soph's. Might get interesting here with Brown and Jones, not sure they would take 3 guards they currently do not have a Center on their roster. Only a couple kids over 6'6 period. Then again knowing Crean he might run half the team off and go with a 5 guard lineup. Never know with that guy..

Kinda interesting development.. Why take this kid when you can possibly get both Jones & Brown? Nick Ziesloft and his 20 mpg will be leaving after this season along with Yogi.. This kid would have been available a month or two from now.. Man does Crean let them get shots up though, Yogi & Blackmon took 197 & 199 3's last season! Plus Johnson & Ziesloft took 134 & 140 a piece..

Kid doesn't really have the profile to scare anyone off but maybe just the numbers make things cloudy, who knows... Last year IU tried to beat you 91-90.. They played no D, lol just grab it out the bucket and go

This is the guy I really want of the remaining guards. But I think we don't have the best track record with Huntington Prep so not going to get my hopes up until he commits.

From a skill set stand point Mosely pairs up better with Curtis Jones in our backcourt then Mosely and Bruce Brown would. Mosely's quickness, slashing, athleticism and court vision match well with Jones perimeter skills. Truth be told IU would probably prefer to pair Gelon with Bruce Brown instead of Curtis Jones. So it may workout in our best interest now. IU could still take both Brown and Jones along with Gelon but I know they are really looking for a combo forward and a skilled Big. Plus they will definitely still have Johnson there in 16-17 and Blackmon if he doesn't leave.
IMO the best backcourt partner to bring in with Mosely is (you guessed it) DeAndre Hunter. You get length, athleticism, skill and perimeter shooting to add to the quickness, explosiveness, handle, court vision and budding perimeter skills that Mosely has.

I'm with you on this, I think Crean has cooled some on Jones.. Especially after reading about the Tyson Carter kid IU recently offered.. Carter's recruitment has jumped a lot over the past 6 weeks, he's very similar to Jones in build & game.. As for Brown, I'm sure Crean is pushing the look what I did for D Wade & Oladipo card heavy, gotta admit though that's a nice card to play.. I like Brown a lot but I agree Jones would be the better fit for the roster .. The big question to me is whether or not Jones has cooled on IU?

Great point Etomic! We were in an a very solid place with him Curtis Jones at the beginning of June. It was reported that he came to Georgetown on multiple unofficial visits and was really talking highly about the Hoyas. Towards the end of June he went to Indiana on a unofficial visit and he hasn't publicly mentioned the Hoyas since and the people around him won't stop talking about Indiana. That's why his first official visit is Indiana. So everything you read is that he is still high on Indiana. I wonder if Indiana will go cold on him or are they willing to sign Jones and Brown to go with Gelon?
I bet Jones or Brown are concerned especially if Georgetown or Indiana are their top choice and the Coaches tell you they have 1 scholarship left for the guard position. With both Georgetown and Indiana getting a commit at the guard position, things should really start to heat up, if we are still pursuing Brown or Jones.
