Here's some commentary about the tip-off marathon and specifically how the timing of the Hoyas game is not ideal for national exposure. A game on ESPN2 between two conferences not in the ESPN family just won't get the exposure it would. Duke-KY probably gets Sean McDonough, Jay Bilas, and Dick Vitale. Georgetown-Maryland would get Mike Tirico and Len Elmore.

Keep forgetting that Maryland is not in the ACC.

People will pay attention when we are thumping them in the second half.

This kid was probably luckier than smart. It was probably more: a) Boeheim ran him out of town to get the NCAA penalty started a year earlier (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/13479844/syracuse-orange-10-scholarship-players-moustapha-diagne-exits), or... b) the kid wouldn't have academically qualified anyways. Hard to imagine being forced to go the JUCO route when you are supposedly a highly ranked recruit.

Another game added to the schedule: Monday, 12/7 at Verizon vs. Brown(www.brownbears.com/sports/m-baskbl/2015-16/schedule). Squeezing a game in between Syracuse and the BB&T Classic.

Does anyone know if there is a particular connection to Brown via the coaching staff or something? I am fine with scheduling them and assume the staff has a good reason to do so; I was just wondering.

Why don't we just schedule URI don't we get extra RPI points for defeating all DI teams from a state. Or does it get us us an automatic invite to the first round in Providence in march.

Maybe we're getting revenge on him this way, since we can't beat Stanford?

As far as lower RPI games go, I would much rather schedule a game or two against the Ivy League each year than some of the random, completely unknown opponents we sometimes throw on the schedule. Harvard, Princeton, Penn, and Cornell have all fielded very dangerous teams over the past decade.
Would be fun also to see a Davidson and/or Richmond show up on the schedule too, at some point.

My son is a rising senior at Brown. I offered to get him tickets for the game. He responded that he didn't know they had a D-1 basketball team.
He is more a hockey guy.

Even though we have some big name opponents on our schedule, I am not sure our RPI will rise to the level where it's been the last few years. My guess is we fall somewhere outside the top 10....between 10 and 25 is my guess.
