BUMP Another year of poor PG play from a JT3 team. You can't win without a true PG. It was poor guard play all around, not PG. Peak, DSR, and Tre took it lightly.

It was poor play overall, not just with the backcourt. Rebounding, not switching on defense, etc. You have to talk to one another on the floor while playing defense. It's going to be a very long season, if this team doesn't correct those mistakes. At least the 1st half free throw % was legit

The most important position on the court is a point guard in 2015/16. If Tre does not develop and in my opinion earn the starting position I think we can be in trouble. If we don't recruit a top PG and scorer ta going to be tough to compete. I know 0 about recruiting but I feel this past year there has been no buzz about landing a large recruit. Did we have a down 2016 class? Are we optimistic for 17?

I'll give you Wisconsin but you can't mention Kentucky in this debate.. Kinda convenient that you didn't mention the team that won it all last season or the previous 2 champions..

Obviously, it's better to have a great true PG than not have one, but I don't think it's impossible to win without one. That's the bigger point.

It heavily PG dependent.

I know I will regret bumping this discussion. I am not posting here to bash JTIII and the recruitment of guards. I''m pretty sure this has been discussed elsewhere but couldn't recall where. I didn't know where else to post this but I really wish the Hoyas could find a way to get AI involved with the basketball program in some official capacity. The only reason I post this article is the quote from Brown about Iverson, "I wish they'd get Allen involved. All those young kids worship him." That is how I feel about getting AI involved with the Hoyas. The fact is kids do worship him and I think he would instantly improve recruiting, particularly guards.

Even AI could not fix the 76ers.

Has Iverson openly offered his knowledge to the 76er's in the past or Hoyas for that matter? Or is this a push from Larry Brown for him to get involved?

Yes, Iverson has said he would love to be involved with the Sixers front office. As for our Hoyas? I am not aware of any statements in that direction, and he never graduated - which would be an impediment. But as for the idea? He'd be great to have associated with the Hoyas.

Even AI could not fix the 76ers. I agree his association would help in the recruitment of point guards

I prefer to attribute it to my obsession with, total commitment to, and constant updating of, Tremont's recruiting thread. But I am a generous guy, so I don't mind sharing the credit.

So our last four recruits have all been guards: - Jagan Mosely
- Jonathan Mulmore
- Rodney Pryor (Top 5 transfer -- OK, he's a 2/3)
- Tremont Waters (Top 40 recruit)
Amazing recovery. Gosh I hope JT3 and staff can reel in another one or two top kids for 2017. And of course, we need to have a GREAT year this season too. Can JT3 get it done? He's got the talent on the roster. Make it happen!

I neglected to mention what I think has been a crucial upgrade: Coach Slo.
