Apparently we're planning to make the Johnnies feel right at home!

It's okay. Blue is practically SJU's primary color this year for no apparent reason.

Is that the sort of thing our new relationship with Fox promotions can fix?

Hoyas have won all 4 games this season coming off extended breaks and the minimum amount of points the Hoyas have scored off of a long lay over is 78.

Yeah, this doesn't show as much creativity and forethought as other promotions have.

It's amazing how a good performance can make you feel much more optimistic. The deflating reality is that we have been erratic and mostly bad this year against the top half of the league, with the exception of the Nova and Butler wins.
That said, finishing 4-1 over the next 5 would get us to 20-9 and 12-6. I would have taken that in a heartbeat to start the season.
If we take care of business 3 times at home and split the final 2 road games, we will be in very good position for an NCAA seed in the 4-6 range, depending on conference tournament performance.
Let's get some rest this weekend and come out fired up to bulldoze a talented, but undisciplined Johnnies team next week. They will be hungry for a big win, and we can't come out lazy.

' You could say that, or you could say that we played very badly against Xavier, not great against providence, and good enough to be 9-1 against the rest of the league. Also a reality.

Apparently we're planning to make the Johnnies feel right at home! Maybe add in a "storm" theme as well. Great American storms. The story almost writes itself. Man, just when I think the student section can't get worse. Thankfully those huge banners will cover most of the student section.

I'm guessing this is one of those situations that went something like this:
"Hey, it's Presidents' Day on Monday the 16th...we should do something, right?" "Yeah, you know it would be so cool if everyone dressed up like the Dead Presidents in Point Break." "Oh, I loooooove that movie." "Let's do it. So you'll handle it, right?" "What...sorry I wasn't listening, I was tweeting a picture of Sad Keanu wearing a Seton Hall hat LOLZ...sooo yeah, let's do something for Presidents' Day..."

Would like to see Paul build off of the momentum from last night's game and get him back on track to being a more consistent threat. I think the dunk where Ike found him from the free throw line gave him some confidence of seeing the ball go through the rim, and it showed later when he hit a three a few possessions after that. Think he should continue to start inside out and cut to the rim to get some shot attempts near the basket or some mid-range jumpers before simply settling for 3's.
I also think Jabril and LJ (and to a certain extent, Bowen) are going to be keys for us here as well. Harrison is one of those guys who will let the first few minutes of a game dictate how he participates for the rest of it, so it's really important that the guys defending him don't let him get into a rhythm early.

Agreed. Against Harrison Led St. John's teams we are 5-1. His out puts against us have been: 5, 24, 7, 2, 4, 24. The last game is our only loss. Every game in the series has been decided by double digits. We won by 20, 10, 16, 12, and 17. But lost by 22.

I absolutely hate Harrison. All he's missing is a hot dog a bun. I fully expect Traws to totally contain him. To beat these guys just stay close for 30 minutes and then fly by them as they combust

Will be a war. This particular St. John's team always seems to have a chip on their shoulder against us. Be ready for some physical play. I anticipate a lot of jawing Let's come out with the same intensity and get it done. Time to go on a roll.

' You could say that, or you could say that we played very badly against Xavier, not great against providence, and good enough to be 9-1 against the rest of the league. Also a reality. I think a better measure of the potential of this team is to assess how they have fared against opponents that are in the running for NCAA bids. At present, it appears the Big East has only 5 candidates: Nova, Butler, Providence, Xavier, and Georgetown. Maybe St. John's, but we have not played them yet. Against these teams, we have posted a 2-6 record, with only one game remaining at Butler. Out of conference, we went 1-2 against Top 65 RPI teams. In total, we are 3-8 against NCAA tournament level teams. So, I am more pumped after the Seton Hall victory, but I need to temper my enthusiasm with the facts, which is that this has been an erratic, inconsistent team that has played poorly in long stretches against our stiffest competition. It's not the type of resume you can use to argue that we are destined for a deep NCAA tourney run. Perhaps the emergence of Copeland and the new lineup will shake things up and provide more consistent play.

This team, particularly Smith/Hopkins and maybe Trawick needs an attitude adjustment to be successful. They are undisciplined when it comes to fouls as has been obvious to us all. These players and JTIII spend way too much time and energy complaining to referees and exhibiting lousy body language and it hurts them and the team - if I were a ref, I'd be looking at ways to blow the whistle because the team shows such little respect, even when things are generally going well as in the Seton Hall game. Not true for everyone, but it is out of control and frankly makes it hard to root for some of the players. I hope JTIII addresses it going forward. I love the younger players, DSR and Bowen though. Go Hoyas.

I agree with this assessment, generally, although I'll note that Florida is projected to end up around 55/56 (mainly because they play at Kentucky to end the season). So we are probably 4-8.
