Even though they were pretty horrible last year and have been in recent years, the game at Michigan should be tough. They have a real home court advantage, and I believe they knocked off Notre Dame there last year. It'll be a decent test, the kind of stuff that helps us get ready for conference play. That said, I still expect a win.

Michigan will definitely be tough, they were suffering from a bunch of injuries last year and are still just emerging from that whole recruiting fiasco five years ago. I'd say next year is their first step back into relevancy...that's something to be afraid of.

I may be wrong, but I won't ever fear Michigan as long as Amaker is running the show there.

My opinion of Amaker is not high but any win at Crisler is a tough one and would be a good one.

What are the odds BC starts popping up on OOC schedules in the next few years across the Big East? I wouldn't be surprised to see them on, say UConn or Prov's schedule simply because of overlapping "markets." But the rest of the BE? It'd be interesting to see if anyone wants anything to do with the Eagles.

It'd be interesting to see if anyone wants anything to do with the Eagles. Providence has indicated that they'll continue to play BC. Don't look for another UConn-BC matchup as long as Calhoun is coaching there.

UConn might schedule BC in basketball if BC would schedule UConn in football. Neither is going to happen for 10 years at a minimum.

Michigan is supposed to be a BEAST next year...
That would be a good win for us...
If we're going to 'Step-Up' to the Big Leagues, we need to win one, if not both of these games...
We won't have the element of surprise next year...people know we're coming...

Some good news regarding SJS non-conference record from the San Jose Mercury News. Going purely by the names mentioned (read: no number crunching on my part, it is the off-season after all!), sounds like their RPI could definitely be stronger than the 282 the Spartans posted last year: As for beefing up SJSU's non-conference schedule, Nessman has arranged a game with Cal on Nov. 30 in Berkeley. The Spartans will open the season as a participant in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, where they could draw Texas Tech and Coach Bob Knight as an opponent. The schedule also includes a home game against Georgetown (arranged by former coach Phil Johnson) and a game at Pacific.www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/colleges/11381549.htm

I believe that Calhoun is on record as refusing to schedule BC now that they are OOC

I may be wrong, but I won't ever fear Michigan as long as Amaker is running the show there. Don't count on it - I am up here in law school and have watched this team play for the past two years - they have a very talented group of juniors and seniors coming back next season and if daniel horton gets cleared to play after being charged with choking his girl, this will be a very, very tough game for GU...I just cannot wait to watch them play!

this was the same group that got their teeth kicked in this past year. They get older but so do we- I like our chances.
Plus, Amaker vs. III? Come on.

This year's team was absolutely devastated by injuries - they were playing two walk-ons considerable minutes and having role players in starting roles...trust me - if sims, horton and dion harris are all playing at the same time, this michigan team in top 3 in the Big 10.

From a selfish standpoint , an away game at LMU would be great. It would be homecoming for the two Westchester HS boys. [Westchester is but a mile or so away from the LMU campus] Although LMU's RPI will probably be low, it would still be a win away. Their new coach, Rodney Tention, would probably owe us big time.

Since when are we playing Fairfield? I must have missed the memo on this one.
