Not sure why we're speculating about uncommitted 2017 5 stars who the big boys have been recruiting for years when we don't even have a complete staff put together yet.

Clearly any undecided player should be flocking toward a GU team that barely has a roster because Patrick Ewing is the coach. What more could we possibly need? Seriously, an undecided big should at least think about it. That's all we can hope for. |

Clearly any undecided player should be flocking toward a GU team that barely has a roster because Patrick Ewing is the coach. What more could we possibly need? Seriously, an undecided big should at least think about it. That's all we can hope for. I'm all for optimism and you're right Ewing should be attractive to big men moving forward but there is a 0% chance Bamba or Bowen come here. |

Chris Sodom a 7'2" center out of Phoenix with an 80 Scout rating was just released from his LOI by the new coach at New Mexico. The kid was touted as a decent prospect for the Lobos who needs some development on the offensive end and was at one time ranked 4*s though that may have changed.

Chris Sodom a 7'2" center out of Phoenix with an 80 Scout rating was just released from his LOI by the new coach at New Mexico. The kid was touted as a decent prospect for the Lobos who needs some development on the offensive end and was at one time ranked 4*s though that may have changed. I've seen worse. Guys this big are always worth a look. 80 on ESPN, 3* on Rivals. Don't know if there's any interest in leaving Southwest though -- most of previous interest there. |

Or, because teams with agressive new coaches like Kevin Keatts are going after undeclared players like Bowen: Eric Bossi ✔ @ebosshoops #NCState trying to make a late run on five-star Brian Bowen. Will send three coaches to see him today. |

That's good...how did Toppin's visit go?...He seems like a guy with a lot of talent/upside...Also, I wish you'd pass on info on the Latvian guy (Blumbergs ?) referenced I think by Etomic in another thread...6'10 with an inside/outside European game (video on him looks pretty darn good...mobile, good outside shooter, strong inside finisher) who is suposedly scheduled to visit Creighton and Grand Valley)...why not Georgetown which I would think has a lot more int'l appeal...also, the kid Bibbs 6'3 2GD out of Chicago..looks to be great program kid/very athletic/excellent shooter...under the radar/late bloomer who reminds me a little of Josh Hart coming out of HS...And lastly, the 5th year guy out of Rice (Kourevour..? that sp is probably not close) who looks to be a great replacement at 2GD/SF...thanks for possibly passing this along... Yeah his list is still pretty weak last time I checked. Think he's going to be playing this weekend for Showtime Ballers but still likely a 2017 player...Kid is a blur with the basketball..

Kidding aside, I couldn't be happier that we're looking at internationals after all these years of ignoring that market, not using our school's advantages in attracting international students, etc...

THIS. Two of our recent Hall of Famers (Mutumbo and our current coach) were internationals, and yet we did horribly at recruiting them under JT3. And this was while international players exploded in numbers in college and the NBA. I'll be very happy if Pat makes a new emphasis on international recruiting, given our school's great reputation worldwide. |
