Fragala seems intriguing. 37 points is a lot to average. I would at least give him a good look. We definitely need scorers. Sign the big kid too. I am excited for a fresh roster.

Lot of things to like. Plays point for a very good team, has good size and build, and is left handed. Plus, from all accounts appears to be able to put up a lot of points and is a good distance shooter, thinks of himself as a pass-first guard, has a reputation as a gamer and hard worker, wants to study international business...sign him up. Athletically cocky too. He's a good passer; he should do it more.

Patrick? How about this kid from Harlem, N.Y. and playing the Jordan Classic tomorrow... MOHAMED BAMBA Height: 6-11 Weight: 210 Position: Center Westtown School Harlem, NY College: Undecided With a wingspan of 7 feet 8 inches, Bamba has one of the longest wingspans in the game. Despite his size and length, he is one of the most graceful big men in this class, which allows him to get low and defend shorter opponents. He runs the floor very well and has great hands to finish strong at the rim. He is currently undecided on where he will attend college next year. if he and waters was to somehow come to GU, uh.... NCAA tourney next year very smart guy

I've seen Fragala play several times. Some thoughts:
He's not that quick, but he's really crafty and he knows how to use his body when he gets into the lane. Gets to the free throw line a TON. Really good at drawing fouls while he's shooting. Rarely misses at the line One of the better pull-up jumpers that I have seen. He had to create all of his shots on his own since his team was not that great. He's the type of guy that scores a lot of points quietly. He ended up scoring 20+points in a half against a team(Loudoun Valley, 4A VA State Champs) that I thought was shutting him down. Clutch. Comes up in big moments
His defense was not anything special, but it was solid. Hard to judge passing ability because the team needed the ball to be in his hands at all times.

Bamba is an amazing defender and has a very good chance to win an NBA DPOY award sometime.
We're certainly not at the level of program he'll likely end up at, but then again, I'm not sure he can do a better coach for development than Patrick.

Saw him play at Slam Dunk to the Beach. He is a stud. Not sure how we would pull him from the likes of Kentucky and Duke with the changes being made. With a little weight put on he will be in the NBA very quickly.

Seems like the type of guy that would listen and is open to an academic type school; he did cross out Harvard (Amaker reference) despite his parents objections but maybe GU is a good compromise I say TRY. Hit him up, Pat.

I absolutely think that Patrick should make every effort to get involved with Bamba...the kid is highly intelligent, his parents evidently value academics, he's the best shot blocker in his class and a top ten player (just like his new coach was), we're the closest geographically (although I'm not sure where his family is located), we have top Business and Foreign Service schools, and we have a Hall of Fame, top 50 all-time NBA player and 15 year NBA Coach to mentor him...I just think that given an opportunity, there could be very strong chemistry there...for all their bluster, UK doesn't have the academics...and Coach K has now had back surgery I believe multiple times, so that's got to be somewhat of a concern going forward...let's see if we can get a visit...miracles can happen...

*Jahvon Blair was BioSteel All-Canadian game MVP this year and he showed an ability to get important buckets for Canada. “Juggy” had some slow games against the athleticism of Team Harden, though has size and is a lefty who has a quick release. www.nbadraft.net/adidas-nations-top-international-prospects-1

Very high quality ~6 minute vignette on Blair in the following video. Comes across as an impressive kid. Same high school as Jamaal Murray and Thon Maker. Not particularly explosive, but looks like he has solid court vision and a good feel for the game. Hope Patrick locks him up this weekend, seems like he'd be a nice add and potentially open a pipeline to a premier Canadian program: wincaribbean.net/future-legends-episode-8/

Some interesting connection points in this article, as it relates to Jahvon Blair - the more I read, the more interesting this pipeline to Canada looks. If anybody watched the Calipari 30-for-30 last night, which included a discussion on Worldwide Wes and Calipari's emphasis on "relationships", these are the kind of people that it would be nice to have on our side.
Brissett considers Tony McIntyre, the father of former SU point guard Tyler Ennis, a second dad. He is "best friends," he said, with Brittany Ennis, one of six Ennis siblings. Brissett called Tyler Ennis a trusted friend and ally, a guy he worked out with last summer who has counseled him on what it's like to play for the Orange.
McIntyre, the Director of Basketball operations at Athlete Institute and the founder of the successful EYBL program CIA Bounce, was instrumental in getting Brissett to Mono, a town surrounded by rolling, snow-covered hills. McIntyre's influence, plus the presence at Athlete Institute of guard Jahvon Blair, a childhood friend, made the transition to a new prep situation relatively seamless.

Liked to see Gtown get involved with this kid too..
Strengths: Duarte is a long-armed point guard prospect for the high major level. He rebounds in and out his area, leads the break and is an astute passer. Whether it's advancing the ball in transition or dropping off a bounce pass on a back door cut, his passing skills are impressive. In the half court set he shows a feathery shooting touch and his range extends out to 20-feet. He has a nifty crossover off the pick and roll and he keeps it low and tight. His mid-range skills are evolving as is his mid-range scoring skills.
Weaknesses: Duarte needs to continue to get stronger to ward off physical defenders. Getting stronger attacking and finishing with his left hand will enhance his stock.
Bottom Line: Duarte was arguably the biggest surprise of the event for a number of reasons. Originally from the Dominican Republic, the long-armed point guard prospect possesses a feathery shooting touch and innate passing skills that will draw comparisons to Michael Carter-Williams (Milwaukee Bucks).

We're not getting Bamba.
Fragala isn't a high D1 player.

How about Brian Bowen? Had a pretty impressive Jordan Classic and does not have a Kentucky-Duke-Kansas list...
