I know the 15 class isn't completed and that will have a bearing on what hoyas do next year. But what are our early wants??

We need 2-3 guards, another big to go along with Hayes, Derrickson and Govan. Also wouldn't mind another Peak and Paul White.

BPA at this point, hard to say what the roster will look like
Out of the players I think we might have a shot at, Fultz, SKJ and Quentin Jackson would all look nice in Blue and Grey…Don’t know what’s up with Rodney Miller but i’d take him 2

Govan is currently the only big on the roster for 2016-17 The thinking was that at least we have Hayes next year. I see both Govan and Derrickson being used at the center position. That is unless we can pick up a couple of transfers in the off season.

Looking at size in the paint, I've always felt that a nice 6-11 PF/C would be a great contribution on the boards. I like the what I see out of Hopkins this year but Kentucky has got some scary height in the front court you damn near have to shoot rainbow jumpers if your playing against them. That church league crap aint gonna cut it if you got a couple of 6-11 guys in front of you.

Do you mention Bennett because you think he's a good fit, or because it looks like we have a good shot with him? Personally, I'm not sure I want another player that might have to battle weight issues his whole career. Josh graduates, but we may have similar concerns with Derrickson. My personal preference would be Diakite/SKJ/Delaurier and Jackson or Fultz. Would be great to get a guard like Cowan, but not sure what our chances are with him.

I think the staff has a good shot at Bennett especially when you factor in how they've utilized Josh.. I'm not worried about his weight, I've seen too many kids get in shape once in college.. Not sure if the situation is still the same but there was a thread on the main board about how cheap G'town is when it comes to hiring a training/conditioning staff.. The program needs to be on par in this regard as well.. Great facilities won't mean much if they're not used properly.. The other kids you mentioned are all PF types, I have to admit I like the dynamic of having a strong low post presence on the team

And we've seen how someone as big as Josh can be completely unstoppable on offense at the college level. If Bennett can do that, I might be on board with him. I was just thinking a potential lineup with Bennett at the 5 and Derrickson at the 4 could be challenged defensively against more athletic opponents. And I agree about the conditioning aspect. I had really hoped we could have gotten Josh down to around 300lbs; I was thinking he could have been a beast at that weight. But the kid has to put in the effort too.

Honestly, this is an issue I'd gladly take right now Talos.. You never know but it's not crazy to think that at least one of White & Copeland will still be on the team for the 2016-17 season which would create an interchangeable front court of White and or Copeland, Mourning, Govan, Derrickson. Bennett would fit well with the group above..

With the additions of K. Johnson and Akoy Agau the Hoyas have 3 scholarships open for 2016. With Govan being the only center on the roster in '16 that becomes a priority along w/ guards.
Needs for 2016
Center PG SG

Needs for 2016 Center PG SG Agreed. SG is still up in the air depending on Peak's development and what Kaleb can bring us. Depending on how Derrickson looks and if Copeland puts on weight, another PF/C could be useful as well (so a PF and a C for the class). Honestly I wouldn't mind a C, PG, CG.

Fultz should be a big priority. Going to be a good player and is local. Need to keep some of these kids home.

To me it Fultz is 1a and a PG is 1b. I think it's either gonna be Bracey or Quentin Jackson. Rodney Miller I think will be the big.

Glad we are all but done with the 15 class. I'm sure if a stud drops in our lap we don't say no. But now the staff can truly focus on the rest of the season and on the 16/17 class.
